The legendary Muztagh Ata was visited three times this time: passing by in the afternoon, photographing the sunset in the evening, and entering the scenic area in the morning. It was well worth it. This is the lake recorded by Master Xuanzang in "A Record of the Western Regions of the Great Tang Dynasty" a thousand years ago. It is located in the core area of the Pamir Plateau, close to the famous Muztagh Ata Peak and National Highway 314. The surrounding natural scenery is magnificent and it is open to tourists free of charge.
Surrounded by snow-capped mountains and nestled in the clear, azure Karakul Lake, the scenery is simply unbeatable! The 40-yuan ticket price is very affordable, and parking is free, making it a great value! Horseback riding and camel riding are also available, and the photos are truly stunning. It's definitely worth the trip! The altitude is around 3,700 meters, so those with altitude sickness should take it slow.
