The Palais des Papes stands on the top of the ancient city of Avignon in southern France. It was built by Pope Benedict XII and Pope Clement VI and is one of the most magnificent castles in the Middle Ages. It was built from the 15th century to 1906. The Palais des Papes has been restored many times since then and is a rare treasure house for studying 14th century architecture and oil paintings.

There is a landmark attraction, the Palais des Papes, in Avignon, Provence, France. This ancient and magnificent building has been inhabited by seven popes since the 14th century. However, a light show is held in the inner courtyard of the Palais des Papes between August and September every year.

Because of the time limit, the wonderful show, and the ability to enter the ancient building at night, this is an event that you cannot miss when you go to Avignon.

From August to September, there is a light show from 9:15 to 10:15 every night, which lasts 30 minutes. Tickets can be purchased in a small cave on the right hand side outside the Palais des Papes. The ticket price is 12 euros, and you can get a discount of 10 euros with the ticket for visiting the Palais des Papes in the morning.

This is a visually stunning light show. The designer put the image on the four buildings of the inner courtyard. Within 30 minutes, the screen shows the spring, summer, autumn and winter of Provence, lavender, the Pont du Gard, buildings, etc. The colors are as colorful as a changing oil painting. It is so beautiful!
