The scenic area is mainly about performances, which young people enjoy, but older people might find staying up late too much. The sun is too strong during the day, but the evening performances are quite varied. We saw it at 9:30, and there were rumors of more performances later.
The eunuchs' performance was excellent, and their acting skills were impressive. The many improvisations were quite enjoyable.
This scenic area is essentially a live stage, surrounded by a circle of shops offering mainly food and drinks. It's very sunny during the day, with few people and few shows, but it gets lively at night.
The live performance was fantastic, but unfortunately, I was busy taking care of my kids and didn't fully understand the story. The host also served as a singer, which was quite impressive! The young men and women danced beautifully, and there was even a performance by a foreign woman.
The stage blends seamlessly with the audience, and the actors' looks are incredibly good up close—a rare sight! They're much better than those photos online that rely on filters. Overall, it's a great value.

Recently, I visited Beihai Old Street. Stepping onto it felt like stepping back in time. The 1.44-kilometer-long street is lined with arcade-style buildings, a fusion of Chinese and Western styles. Their carved window bars and arched doorways speak of a bygone era of prosperity. Strolling along, the aroma of various local snacks fills the air, from crispy shrimp crackers to smooth and delicious rice rolls. Small shops display a dazzling array of items, including shell carvings and pearls. As the sun sets, its afterglow casts a gentle hue on the old street, making it a truly captivating experience. Beihai Old Street is truly a treasure of this city's history and culture.
It's just so-so. The most distinctive feature is that the arcade and the sea can become a scenery. There is also a coffee shop where you can see the sea ☕️. Apart from that, there are shops. Beibu Gulf is very lively, and there are several shopping malls. I ate several meals here.
Beibu Gulf Square, I just passed by here. I followed the navigation from Beihai Old Street to find the old sites of Impression 1876 and accidentally came here. It's quite far and I took a long detour. Beihai's urban construction is quite beautiful. I ate pork trotter rice noodles near the square. The price is quite cheap.
