The Mill Gallery (Mlýnská kolonáda) is located in Karlovy Vary, a spa city in the Czech Republic. The Mill Gallery is named after the original mill nearby. The gallery is one of the traditional landmarks of Karlovy Vary and is known as the most beautiful spa gallery. The gallery was built in 1881 by Josef Zitek, the designer of the Prague National Theater, and then expanded into its current Renaissance style in 1893. This neo-Renaissance building has two aisles, 132 meters long and 13 meters wide. It consists of a nave, side corridors and 124 Corinthian columns. There are 12 classical statues on the columns, representing the 12 months of the year. The entire building is in Baroque style and full of royal style. The gallery has an orchestra pit for the spa band to perform free concerts regularly. There are 13 major hot springs in Karlovy Vary, 5 of which are in the spa gallery. For the convenience of drinking, the town has specially designed beautiful and practical hot spring cups with various styles for tourists. The characteristic of the cups is that the drinking spout is above the cup handle, so as to extend the entrance channel and avoid scalding. People who drink hot spring water for the first time may not be used to its sulfur taste. It tastes a bit salty when you drink it. The carbon dioxide content is very high. However, it would be a great pity if you don’t buy a hot spring cup (medium cup/7 US dollars) to taste the famous hot spring water.
