The panda base is a must-see in Chengdu. The pandas are so adorable. Unfortunately, the summer heat kept the pandas indoors, so they stayed put and slept. I hope to see more active pandas next time. The west section is large and well-protected from the sun, so it's not very well protected.
Enter by the quieter west gate. Fantastic wander around a huge site. Worth a walk to the East gate via every enclosure. It'll easily fill a day! Plenty to see and do. Mostly pandas. The red panda free-roaming enclosures are ace. This was my second visit and it was pleasing to see such a large-scale expansion and renovation. Well done to all involved at this amazing conservation site.

Walking into Du Fu's Thatched Cottage feels like stepping back into ancient times. The bamboo forest resembles a green ocean, rustling in the wind. The crooked thatched roof reminds me of Du Fu's poem, "The bedside is leaking, and there's no dry spot." Strolling through the grounds, I can empathize with Du Fu's concern for his country and his people, as he wrote, "I wish I had thousands of mansions." The guide's lively narration is available, and group tours are only 20 yuan per person.
Du Fu Thatched Cottage is a famous tourist attraction in Chengdu. It is a historical, cultural and literary theme. You need to listen to the explanation to understand the history and stories behind it. We invited a study teacher to explain, turning this trip into a vivid class. The museum is beautiful. The site where the Sun Bird and the golden mask were unearthed also includes a small jade figurine. The Sun Bird is authentic and beautiful. It is about 50 kilometers away from Chengdu, with convenient transportation and easy access by car. It opens at 7:30 in the morning, and the pandas are eating breakfast. You can basically see our national treasures and observe and photograph them up close. The park environment is clean, so it is recommended to queue up early in the morning to visit!
I couldn't get a ticket to Panda Valley, so I ended up buying a package of Panda Valley + Cultural and Creative Panda Gifts for over 80 yuan. The gift was really small... But Panda Valley itself is good. The park is not big, the flow of people is not large, and it is cool and shady. After two hours of visiting, I was very excited to see the giant pandas and red pandas.

You don't have to go to the panda base in Chengdu; it's too crowded, and the lines often last two hours or more. Here, there are fewer people, a better environment, and the pandas are all incredibly adorable, including Red Panda, Big Bear, and Little Bear. I had a crazy day at Happy Valley with my bestie. The roller coaster, the pendulum, and the rapids were all so thrilling that I did them all twice. The atmosphere of the park was awesome, and we agreed to come back every year to check in.
