This trip to Fanjing Mountain was absolutely perfect.
I booked a timetable five days in advance on the official WeChat account. During those five days, I checked the weather forecast daily, and every day it predicted rain. I worried every day, afraid it would be a wasted trip and I wouldn't see anything.
It was still drizzling when I took the scenic shuttle bus, but it cleared up when I reached the summit.
The moment I saw the clouds and fog part, I was absolutely astonished. It was so stunning! I don't know how to describe my feelings at that moment.
I've traveled over 3,000 kilometers just for you.
If you're not very physically fit, definitely choose to enter and exit from the east, as there's a cable car both ways. From the high-speed rail station to Tongren, you'll need to take a direct bus or taxi to the scenic area, which takes about an hour. After entering through the east gate, you'll first take a 20-minute sightseeing bus to the cable car entrance, followed by another 15-minute cable car ride to begin the actual climb. Reservations are required for the Red Cloud Golden Summit, otherwise you won't be able to enter.

Among the various attractions surrounding Fairy Mountain, Fairy Mountain is quite beautiful. Since we were staying at Zhuoya, it was almost 7:00 AM when we arrived at the Fairy Mountain Grassland. There were few tourists, just the hotel guests. The sunset, the grassland, and the sheep grazing on their way home were truly beautiful. The next day, we took the train. The morning was packed with tour groups, which increased the wait time. We passed through a wavy road, with cattle, horses, and sheep on both sides. The children loved it.
If it's a national forest park, it should emphasize humanistic care. Judging by the train ride this morning, the stops are quite far from the main scenic area. Some facilities need maintenance, and the radio kept on turning on and off all morning, causing a lot of noise pollution. The scenery was okay, but otherwise, it was fine.

This is a theme park perfect for children. ⚠️ Parking is in the underground parking lot 300 meters away from Window of the World.

Before my trip, I researched various travel guides online and saw the photos of the Tongren Grand Canyon were so stunning that I decided it was a must-see.
Once I saw it in person, it was far more beautiful than the photos. My phone simply couldn't capture the beauty of the Tongren Grand Canyon. You have to be there in person to experience it.

Pingshan is far from the city center, and the ticket price is relatively high. During the peak summer vacation season, the boat ticket requires queuing at six in the morning. People who don’t live nearby the night before can’t buy it at all. Then you have to walk down more than a thousand steps. The main purpose of going down is to take the popular photo of the boat. Personally, I feel that you don’t need to go to Pingshan after visiting the Earth’s Core Valley. The scenery is similar.
The scenic area is well designed, and the itinerary isn't too tiring, as it's mostly a descent. The rolling hills and green river offer a tranquil and beautiful view, but there aren't any breathtaking sights. The life jackets and helmets on the boat are a bit dirty and smelly, so they need to be cleaned and disinfected regularly. Overall, it's okay.

Ticket is expensive for a one day visit. Once purchased online here, when you arrive at the entrance gates = theres a few, you need to show your passport and qr code to redeem for a paper ticket. Keep the paper ticket safe and with you at all times. You can enter / exit the scenic area as many times as you like within 3 day period. Staff will scan your paper ticket at various checkpoints - to enter the scenic area and even inside to get access to some sections. There is a different show time schedule for week days and week nights. Its on a board inside at the main square or ask your accomodation for it. The 9pm 40min show in the theatre is the best one, all the others are about 10min long and of traditional singing or fusion style dancing performances. I was in the scenic area from 1pm to 5pm then returned around 7pm to 10pm. Theres not a lot to buy - souvenir wise, mostly Chinese local cuisine food and drinks. There is a KFC and Luckin Coffee at the main entrance. Furong is beautiful!
I bought this ticket on trip, right at the tourist centre, cos it’s cheaper than the 108rmb for adults. For overseas seniors (65 and above) you can get the ticket for 10rmb on the spot. You’ll have to show the QR code to the tourist centre counter and they will scan your face and give you a ticket which you’ll use to enter the scenic area and the waterfall viewing area. The sight is amazing and it’s not crowded in the morning. I only spent half day there, if you have time, can check out the lights at night, our didi driver shared that it’s more eventful at night, but still managed to watch a 1030 performance in the scenic area.

Very suitable for family rafting. The first half is suitable for water fights, the second half is a bit thrilling but not dangerous, and in the end I also experienced human rafting. I really recommend it.
It's fun and suitable for rafting with kids. There was no sun when we were rafting. It was a bit cold in the first half, but it was very good in the second half. Because of the rising water, there was a section of rafting prohibited in the second half. We walked a little way ashore. The water quality was really good and very clear. It is worth coming.
