I bought a ticket for the Wuzhifeng Scenic Area in Chenzhou, Hunan, along with a shuttle bus and cable car. No need to pick up a ticket, I could just scan my ID or the park QR code to enter and board the cable car. It was really convenient. The scenic area is well-managed, and the scenery, sometimes shrouded in mist and sometimes with a dramatic view, is truly picturesque. Well worth a visit.
The scenery is very good. It is indeed not necessary to climb the mountain. You can take the elevator. However, the scenic area is very large. It takes several kilometers to walk around it. It is very tiring to walk around. But I think it is worth going.

We visited the West District of Mangshan. The entrance fee is 80 yuan, with children free. Self-drive vehicles are free, and parking is also free. The Monkey King Village scenic area is located near a rafting transfer station. There's a caged monkey house with two monkeys at the entrance. We walked for 20 minutes into the area, reaching the Water Curtain Cave, but then returned. We didn't see any wild monkeys. We passed a small stream near a hydroelectric power station, and the children had a blast playing in the water. So, bring some clothes. We didn't visit General Village. The road to Tiantai Mountain Scenic Area is steep and winding, so drive carefully. The parking lot is small, so we parked on the side of the road. We bought a one-way ticket for the Tiantai Mountain elevator, which cost 36 yuan for adults and 18 yuan for children. Since we wanted to watch the sunset, the elevator stopped at 5:30 p.m., making it difficult to get up and down. Sunset was at 6:30 p.m. on our day. After ascending the cloud ladder, we first climbed the First Peak of Central and Southern Taiwan, which requires some stamina. Alternatively, you can skip the climb and visit the Longevity Pagoda. The First Peak of Central and Southern Taiwan offers a sunrise view from the platform of the Five Finger Peak, the highest point in the West District, with beautiful views. From the First Peak of Central and Southern Taiwan to the Longevity Pagoda, you can watch the sunset all the way down the mountain. Drinks and snacks are available at the Wanshou Pagoda. From there, we continued north to the Guanyin Temple Alpine Rhododendron Observation Deck and the Xiaotiantai Observation Deck. The road was mostly flat, and the journey to the Xiaotiantai Observation Deck took over 20 minutes. The Xiaotiantai Observation Deck offers another platform for viewing the Five Finger Peaks and the sunrise from the west side. We then returned to the Wanshou Pagoda to watch the sunset. Afterward, we walked down the 660 steps from the Wanshou Pagoda parking lot, which took 20 minutes. The total hike took over five hours.
Driving up the mountain, there are many bends, which tests driving skills. If you have the physical strength to hike, you can completely skip the escalator and walk all the way. Along the way, cicadas chirp in the forest, birds sing in the mountains, climb the stairs, and take a look at the mountains and walk in the sea of clouds. The sun was scorching on the day we went there, but clouds rose from time to time, especially in the Golden Whip Stone Pillar Valley. There was always an illusion of riding on clouds and mist, which was not like the human world. If you also want to go to Monkey King Village and General Village, one day is not enough and you will be very tired. If you like hiking, you need two days. For general tourism, you can focus on one or two attractions.

The scenic area is mainly an ecosystem surrounding a series of lakes. The ecological environment is very good. It is a reservoir. It is not a naturally formed lake, but a reservoir artificially dug in the 1960s. It reminds people of the revolutionary era in full swing. It is possible to make such a huge project without the premise of capital economic interests. There are a few sparse villages scattered around such a beautiful reservoir, and the original villagers still live there. Because of the resources that attract foreign economy, it has now been developed into a tourist attraction. Although it is not a beautiful scenery that makes people linger, you can feel the traces of decades of time.
The scenery is nice. We took the Dongjiang Lake No. 3. The clear water and blue sky made us feel relaxed and refreshed. When the boat reaches the center of the lake, we can go to the second-floor deck to see the scenery and take pictures. Just wear a life jacket. It's a bit sunny, but not hot. I would recommend it to my friends.

There are many more things than when I came here in 2018. The boundless hot spring is very photogenic, but I came at an unlucky time. The sun was too strong and there was no cloud and mist. When I came here for the first time, I really felt like I was in a fairyland.
Parking is very convenient. After soaking in the hot springs, there is a street on the left with a lot of delicious food. It is a beautiful place with many hot spring pools. There are not many people there on weekdays. Many pools can be enjoyed alone. The water temperature is very good and there are some suitable for the elderly. There are also ones for kids and people who like hotpot🤣.
