Hongyadong, officially known as the Hongyadong Folk Customs Area, is a tourist destination that combines sightseeing, leisure, and vacation activities. Located at 88 Jialingjiang Binjiang Road, Yuzhong District, Chongqing, it sits on the riverfront where the Yangtze and Jialing Rivers meet. It borders Jiefangbei, Cangbai Road, to the north and Binjiang Road to the south. Hongyadong boasts 11 stories, rises 79 meters, and covers a total area of 31,500 square meters. After liberation, Hongyadong was designated a Chongqing Municipal Cultural Relic Protection Unit and has become a major tourist attraction. In 2003, Hongyadong was officially demolished and rebuilt. In 2006, the Hongyadong Folk Customs Area was completed and opened in September of the same year. The scenic area features stilt houses, a replica of an antique commercial street, and Hongya Dicui. It also offers specialty restaurants, leisure and entertainment venues, and shops selling Ba-Yu folk crafts.
