The scenery of the scenic area was incredibly soothing! Walking along the trails, surrounded by verdant mountains and clear waters, and ancient buildings (subject to change depending on the type of scenic area), the air was so fresh I couldn't help but take deep breaths. The facilities were excellent, the signs were clear, the restrooms were clean, and there were many thoughtful rest areas. I checked out the popular spots, and they were all great for taking pictures! The snacks inside were reasonably priced, and the staff were very patient. Overall, a perfect experience, definitely worth it!
The core scenic spot of Laojun Mountain, Shili Huaping, is located between Zhongtianmen and Jinding. Strolling along the suspended walkway, every step reveals a beautiful view, and walking along it feels like being in a huge natural oxygen bar.

We watched a martial arts performance first, and the interactive segment was quite interesting. The ginkgo trees were a beautiful golden yellow in autumn. There's a Yi Jin Jing (Muscle/Tendon Changing Classic) stone carving outside the hall behind the Lixue Pavilion. The vegetarian restaurant at Huanxidi is indeed a bit pricey; a single set meal is 36 yuan, including two side dishes, a soup, and rice. Our group of six ordered five set meals, and after finishing them, the taste was acceptable. We bought some ointment from the Shaolin Pharmacy; I don't know how effective it is yet. The cable car ride from the top to the bottom of Haohanpo (Hero's Slope) is moderate, taking about two and a half hours. The shuttle bus from Haohanpo closes at 6 pm, and it's quite far to the Sanhuangzhai parking lot, so I recommend taking the park shuttle. A taxi from the Sanhuangzhai parking lot to the Shaolin Temple parking lot costs 22 yuan, and there are unlicensed taxis outside asking for 20 yuan per person; I suggest taking Didi (a ride-hailing app).
No spontaneous trip, just repeated plans. You watched the Shaolin martial arts performance, and I admired the thousand-year-old ginkgo trees. It felt so good to receive support. Arrived early at 10 am, no mountain climbing, no cable car, just a slow, leisurely stroll, stopping and going, eating and taking photos along the way. The 1500-year-old ginkgo trees could be photographed for over an hour. The red leaves at the summit are for those with stronger stamina to show off their skills!

The weather wasn't kind. After traveling over a thousand kilometers, I encountered a rainy day. The dense fog limited the view, which was quite a disappointment, but it also had a unique charm. The thick fog made the mountain scenery even more ethereal and mysterious. With so few tourists, it felt like exploring a fairyland. Besides the autumnal mountain scenery, the ancient architecture was also a highlight. The caisson murals on the eaves of the Yangtai Palace are unique in Henan Province. Even the Nantianmen and Ying'en Palace are worth seeing as ancient architectural masterpieces. Although it was the National Day holiday, there were no waiting times for the sightseeing buses and cable cars, and the other painless mountain climbing facilities were also sparsely populated. The experience was excellent.

The forest coverage rate in Shaohua Mountain Scenic Area is super high. Take the Jingjiao car to Shimenxia, enter the hiking route, shuttle among the dense woods, listen to birds singing, watch squirrels jump, and luckily find some rare plants. This feeling of being close to nature is great.

Taihang Sky Road offers a scenic drive via shuttle bus, but the views from the several viewing platforms are only average. Wangxiangyan has no shuttle bus service; the entire route is on foot, clockwise. The first and second halves are unremarkable, with only the middle section, Wangxiang Waterfall, truly worth seeing! The Sky Ladder is definitely worth climbing!

Yuntai Mountain Scenic Area in Jiaozuo, Henan Province, boasts beautiful scenery and three main attractions. We spent a day and a half visiting Hongshixia, Xiaozhaigou, and Zhuyu Peak. To save time and energy when visiting Zhuyu Peak, we chose to take the Zhuyu Peak cable car up the mountain, then walked 2.8 kilometers to the Phoenix Peak Glass Skywalk, took the Phoenix Ridge cable car down the mountain, and stayed at the service area on the shore.
The three-day validity of the Yuntai Mountain ticket is definitely worthwhile. The mountains and waters here are beautiful, and staying at the service area makes it convenient to take the scenic shuttle bus, perfect for a leisurely visit. There are also many restaurants in the service area along the shore for convenience.

The autumn scenery of Jinci Temple is beautiful. I came to see the three treasures of Jinci Temple, but I didn't expect to see the most beautiful autumn scenery of Jinci Temple. The plaques inside are very nice, and the characters are vigorous and powerful.
Jinci Temple, as the oldest existing royal sacrificial garden in China, boasts ancient buildings and thousand-year-old cypress trees, showcasing a unique northern garden charm. The Song Dynasty painted clay statues of maidens in the Holy Mother Hall are a masterpiece, and the ingenious structure of the Fish Pond Flying Bridge is a unique example of ancient bridge architecture. The Zhou Cypress and Tang Locust Tree, along with the Nanlao Spring, constitute the "Three Wonders of Jinci," and a stroll through the temple grounds allows one to feel a rich historical atmosphere.
It is recommended to visit on a weekday morning to avoid peak tour group crowds and enjoy the interplay of light and shadow on the ancient buildings. The scenic area is quite large, so comfortable walking shoes are recommended. Remember to bring sun protection in summer and warm clothing in winter. The scenery is picturesque, and the air is exceptionally fresh! A great weekend getaway for families, it's not far from downtown Taiyuan. From the GreenTree Inn near the Affiliated Hospital of the University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, drive south along Jinci Road for 40 minutes. It's incredibly convenient. Bring some snacks if you want to fully explore the area, but there's hot water, instant noodles, and a restaurant at the top. It's fantastic!
I took a taxi to Tianlongshan Grottoes in a hurry, but was stopped 3 kilometers away from the scenic area. I was told that the scenic area was closed due to freezing. I had to go to Longshan Grottoes instead. To my surprise, there was almost no one there. It was really the quietest place to check in during the Spring Festival.

Online ticket booking is convenient and offers a 5 yuan discount. However, for a tourist attraction, 90 yuan is still quite expensive, especially considering it only features one geological feature. I met a very kind person on my trip to Bolanggu. If you're planning to go to Bolanggu, you can call the long-distance bus station to inquire about shuttle buses. The customer service representative will give you the phone number of the person in charge. The fare from the county town to Bolanggu Scenic Area is 20 yuan. I contacted this person in charge a day in advance. The next day, the bus broke down and couldn't run. The driver didn't call me either, and I waited a long time without getting a ride. I then called this person in charge, explaining that I hadn't received a call from the driver. After understanding the situation, this person in charge decided to take me to the scenic area in their own car. They waited for me for 3 hours at the entrance and then took me back to the county town. I'm very grateful to this person in charge of the shuttle bus for making my trip to Bolanggu possible. Most of my trip to Shaanxi was spent in overcast and rainy weather. After checking the weather forecast, I was fortunate to find a sunny day, so I adjusted my itinerary to visit Wave Valley. The scenery at Wave Valley was beautiful, and the leisurely pace of exploring the large loop was very enjoyable. Booking tickets through Ctrip was convenient, and I will definitely use it again next time.
