Furong Town is beautiful. My siblings, sister-in-law, and husband and I went on a road trip. We drove from Zhangjiajie to Furong Town in the afternoon. We managed to take pictures of both the daytime scenery and the night view, which was absolutely stunning. It was definitely worth the trip.

This little town was so stunning, day and night we spent about 5  hours here.

Furong Town is indeed unique; the ancient town perched on the waterfall lives up to its name&mdash;it&#39;s very beautiful, especially at night. The off-season is less crowded, which is great, but it involves some ups and downs, so it might be inconvenient for people with mobility issues.

There&#39;s a distance from the high-speed rail station to the scenic area. There are free shuttle buses during peak season, but not in the off-season. If possible, take a taxi; they&#39;re not expensive. Taxis generally charge a flat rate of 20 yuan per trip (no meter). Ride-hailing services are usually hard to find. If you want to take public transportation, you first need to go to Furong Town Bus Station (3 yuan, not a regular bus, but a privately owned minibus), then take a blue minibus to the scenic area (2 yuan, the minibus is old, but considered a legitimate local vehicle).

There are many restaurants offering views of the waterfall at night, all located on the stone-paved street. In the off-season, you can browse and decide which restaurant to choose, even if you don&#39;t intend to eat. The food and prices are generally similar across restaurants, so just choose what you like. In peak season, you&#39;ll need to book in advance.

Furong Town was originally named Wangcun. It is an ancient town with a history of more than 2,000 years. Because the movie &quot;Furong Town&quot; directed by Xie Jin was filmed in Wangcun, it was renamed Furong Town. The biggest highlight is the big waterfall passing through the town, so it is known as the thousand-year-old town hanging on the waterfall. At night, the big waterfall and the stilt houses of Furong Town hanging on the waterfall are brightly lit, and the scenery is very dreamy. There are performances during the day and at night, especially large-scale performances at night, which are very exciting. They are all included in the ticket 🎫, and no additional payment is required. Therefore, it is recommended to play for a day and a half, and stay for one night to see the night view and morning light of the ancient town. Especially after the rain, the waterfall has a large amount of water and is spectacular, and the stone slab street is shining, which is a good time to shoot. Accommodation is recommended in some of the towns, which are relatively quiet.
