Nanhai Zen Temple is located in the southeast corner of Runan County, Zhumadian City, Henan Province, China. It covers an area of more than 500 acres. The temple area is open and the buildings are vast. It is a national AAAA scenic spot. In the northeast of Nanhai Zen Temple is the Baigong Shangren Relics Pagoda Courtyard, where pavilions, steles and tablets are scattered and well-arranged. The relic pagoda built for Baigong Shangren is carved from granite, integrating ancient Chinese architectural art with the modern tower building art style of Southeast Asia. The Nanhai Zen Temple Mountain Gate Archway is 50 meters long and 31 meters high. On the 500-meter-long and 20-meter-wide corridor inside the mountain gate, 12 granite archways are built from north to south in accordance with the 12 causes and conditions, 12 zodiac signs, and 12 Bodhisattvas. The style is unique and magnificent. Nanhai Zen Temple mainly uses temple architecture and reliefs as carriers to show the connotation of Buddhist culture. Starting from 00:00 on September 20, 2018, the ticket price for Nanhai Temple Scenic Area (4A-level scenic area) will be reduced from 50 yuan/person to 40 yuan/person.
