I actually came to Danzhou specifically for Su Dongpo. The garden itself is rather ordinary, lacking in cultural flair. However, Dongpo has become a national internet celebrity, and Danzhou, a place so famous for its poetry, could be made a city icon.
Compared to Huizhou, Su Dongpo spent much longer in Danzhou, and I hope to see more publicity for it as a significant cultural hub.
Dongpo Academy is not only an important symbol of Hainan culture, but also a model of ancient Chinese academy architecture. It is an important historical relic built to commemorate the great writer Su Dongpo who taught and spread the Central Plains culture when he was exiled to Danzhou.

There were few people, but the car tour still had explanations. The garden is very old and it happened to be the flowering period of Thai cycads, but the trees were too tall and no female plants were found. After half a day of walking around, I found a hairy dragon and a willow-leaf sparrow by the water before leaving. It was a small happiness.
It is worth going. The ticket price is 26 yuan per person for adults, 13 yuan per person for discount tickets, and free tickets for soldiers and veterans. It is very cost-effective. It is also a national research and study education base for primary and secondary school students. In 1960, Premier Zhou Enlai also wrote a poem for this place: "Establishing a career in Danzhou, taking root in Treasure Island". Many tropical plants are introduced here, including the national first-level protected plant Polu and the national second-level protected plants Tieling and Tuxiang.
