Wine lovers who don't have time to go to the nearby wineries for a half-day or day trip can also consider these taverns. You can taste wines from different regions and wineries in one stop, and the price of the experience package by glass or 3 glasses is not expensive. We ordered red and white wine with snacks, sat opposite the Pitti Palace, looked at the scenery, ate and drank while chatting about the day's itinerary.
The two snacks we ordered were directly used as appetizers that night, and then we went to another restaurant for dinner, which was just right.
- Filetti di acciuga marinati con burrata affumicata: The combination is quite balanced, and the anchovies don't feel fishy. The smoked burrata cheese has a thick taste.
- Carciofo ripieno e fritto intero: Artichokes are stuffed with ricotta cheese and then fried. The batter is slightly hard and crispy. The artichokes themselves are quite standard, and the addition of ricotta cheese makes the whole thing a little special. But I think the small salty pie on the side is more delicious.
Seeing that there was still some time before the dinner reservation, I simply ordered the Chianti 40 Years Experience Set, which I was curious about before, with 3 glasses of wine from 1975, 1980 and 2011. When the sommelier served the wine, he talked about the background for a long time.
In terms of price, 2 snacks cost 20 euros, and the 2 glasses of wine and the Chianti 40 Years Experience Set (3 glasses) cost a total of 33 euros.
