We stayed near Hakata Station, and arrived via the Kagoshima-Kashii Line. It's located by the sea, a little off the beaten track, and there's nothing to eat around. The aquarium is not big, but because there weren't many people when we went, it felt pretty good. There were various performances, the penguins were cute, and you could observe them up close, and there was a rich variety of marine life. The restaurant is a little small, and you have to make a reservation in advance to eat in. It's great to bring your kids to play in the restaurant without getting exposed to the sun. By the way, the seaside park opposite is super fun.
