Guide Li (Xiao Hai), nicknamed "The Scholar Says," took me on a tour of the Forbidden City, and it was a wonderful experience. He explained the meeting point in detail beforehand, and his tour guide style was witty and humorous. He was well-versed in both official and unofficial history, as well as film and television dramas, and could rattle off numbers and historical allusions effortlessly. He was even better than a scholar, and he was very popular with children.
Xiucai said that Guide Li (Xiaohai) took me to visit the Forbidden City. I was deeply impressed by the grandeur and long history of the Forbidden City. The guide's explanations were detailed and the service was warm. Thumbs up 👍!

We took the kids there during summer vacation, and overall it was a good experience. The design styles of each theme park were beautiful, perfect for taking photos and checking in. The services were plentiful, and the staff were very friendly and interacted with visitors. However, the parade and light show were a little less impressive than Disney's.
We came for Halloween, and there were four Halloween-themed haunted houses to enjoy. I exchanged my ticket for one and bought another one for my husband, only to find out that tickets were 668 RMB each for the Halloween weekend. The haunted houses all seemed similar, just with different themes. Relatively speaking, Mansion 81 was a bit scarier and more thrilling. Jack's Circus had the best visual effects. The haunted houses opened at 3 PM. If you've been to Universal Studios many times before, like us, and came specifically to experience the Halloween-themed attractions, you can start queuing for one around 2:30 PM, saving a lot of time. We finished all four haunted houses before 6 PM.

I'm originally from Beijing, and this was my first time visiting the Badaling Great Wall. It's a dream come true! Taking the high-speed rail was very convenient; the cable car entrance is right outside the train station.
Today I hesitated for a long time between going to Mutianyu or Badaling. After checking, I realized that Mutianyu's scenery wasn't fully developed yet, so I decided to go to Badaling instead. Since the off-season is about to begin, this is the perfect time to experience the sunrise and autumn colors. To be honest, the red leaves at Badaling are just average, but with the morning light, you can still see the visual impact of the forests being dyed in vibrant colors.

The Yungang Grottoes are home to a beautiful legend closely tied to the monk Tan Yao. Legend has it that in his dream, Tan Yao saw the Buddha standing in the clouds, radiating a dazzling light. This light illuminated the entire world, and all things, illuminated by the Buddha's aura, became peaceful and tranquil. Upon waking, Tan Yao believed this was a revelation from the Buddha, and he decided to preserve this vision in the form of a grotto, allowing future generations to experience the sacredness and beauty of the Buddha's aura. He therefore proposed excavating the grottoes to Emperor Wencheng, who supported his proposal. Thus, the Yungang Grottoes were born. When you stand before the grottoes, the sound of wind that has lingered for millennia in your ears, the tranquility and awe you feel in your heart will become the most precious souvenir of your journey. Going to Yungang is about meeting yourself.
It is a key tourist attraction, 5A grade, and the historical status of the ancient site is extremely high. The grottoes and cliff carvings are earlier than those of Longmen in Luoyang. They are very magnificent and soul-stirring, with unparalleled artistic value. The scenery is also very good. In the valley of the upper reaches of the Hutuo River, the natural scenery such as mountains and rivers is also very good.

Our visit to Prince Gong's Mansion, accompanied by the explanations of Jiang Shangyi from Xiucai Shuo, and the "From Beginning to Completion" exhibition at Ledaotang, brought us a unique experience. Director Jiang's explanations were professional and detailed, from which we benefited greatly. Highly recommend Xiucai Shuo!
As expected of the richest man's residence, it's exceptionally luxurious. Pavilions and terraces, mountains and water, even a temple and a wishing tree! The carved beams and painted rafters exude wealth and opulence. The red and blue color scheme, typical of traditional Chinese style, is a classic color combination from our ancestors.

Jinci Temple truly lives up to its reputation as a thousand-year-old temple; every step reveals a piece of history! The ancient cypress and locust trees stand tall and vigorous, the Nanlao Spring is crystal clear, and the Song Dynasty painted sculptures are lifelike. Ancient buildings and gardens complement each other, making a stroll through the temple feel like stepping back in time. With its profound cultural heritage and tranquil, elegant environment, it's well worth the trip and highly recommended!
We visited Jinci during its most beautiful season, when the golden ginkgo leaves painted the entire garden with autumn colors. Every blade of grass, every tree, every pavilion, and every tower tells a story, a testament to a long and rich history—a royal garden well worth a visit.

The Temple of Heaven Park in Beijing, as a historical and cultural heritage site, is an excellent example of ancient site preservation. The Hall of Prayer for Good Harvests and the Echo Wall are particularly worth visiting. The Temple of Heaven Park is suitable for visiting year-round, and Beijing residents have come to regard it as a place for leisure and exercise. Every year, the Temple of Heaven Park receives a large number of domestic and international tourists. Although an entrance fee is charged, it is very affordable.
To photograph the Hall of Prayer for Good Harvests in the Temple of Heaven Park, you must wait for the final golden light. I chose to go in around 3 pm and get close to the Hall of Prayer for Good Harvests to take pictures. There were definitely a lot of people there, and you couldn't avoid them. Fortunately, you can bring a tripod and use long exposure to blur the background.

Overall, the ancient town is quite nice, with a classic and antique charm. It's generally well-preserved, but the commercial atmosphere is too strong, and the planning needs improvement. It's a bit chaotic and noisy, and there's much room for improvement. In general, there are many things to see, and I recommend taking a guided tour.
The ancient city is particularly simple and primitive, without too much commercial atmosphere. The interior space is large and it is worth a day to slowly appreciate it. The consumption inside the ancient city is very good. The overall feeling is great and it is worth coming again!

The tour guide was excellent, possessing an incredibly rich knowledge base. He spent a significant amount of time discussing history, almost exclusively focusing on official historical records, condensing the essence of CCTV documentaries like "Lecture Room" and "Palace Maids' Memoirs." The route was also well-planned. Personally, I think entering the garden from the East Palace Gate is closer than entering from the North Palace Gate. If you have ample time, it would be best to spend an afternoon exploring the garden after the guided tour.
The Summer Palace in autumn is a must-see in Beijing. Its beauty combines traditional solemnity with natural tenderness. Stepping into the Summer Palace is like entering a still painting, each frame imbued with the weight of time and the warmth of autumn.

It's definitely worth a visit. I still vividly remember the moment I stepped through the gate after getting my ticket and saw the wooden pagoda. My friend and I were so focused on getting inside that we didn't realize we were fast-forwarding. When we turned around, the pagoda was right in front of us, and it was incredibly impressive. I can still recall that feeling of awe. We went during the off-season, so the sun was shining brightly, and there weren't many people. We leisurely admired it for a long, long time.
It is truly hard to imagine how the ancients built such a magnificent tower, which has withstood wind, rain, snow, lightning strikes, earthquakes, and even wars. It is a great tower, a testament to the superb art of the ancients, and deserves to be visited and admired by every Chinese person.
