The pandas at the panda breeding base are incredibly cute. I was so lucky to even encounter one that could roll around and catch butterflies. If the green vegetation managed by the pandas could grow a bit bigger, the streets wouldn't be so sunny. Perhaps because of COVID-19, they do look rather dashing when they walk.
Inside the Moon Nursery, several baby pandas were huddled together, fast asleep behind the glass wall, their round bodies curled up on the wooden frame like plush toys. Suddenly, a black and white panda rolled over, revealing its pink belly, and the visitors gasped – it was "He Ye" stretching! Just then, the keeper fed it an apple, and it grabbed the bamboo pole, tilting its head to eat the fruit in its adorable, goofy manner, eliciting chuckles from everyone.

Amazing artifacts displayed in a very well designed museum.
Looking back at a history spanning thousands of years—thankfully, we found a professional guide, otherwise we wouldn't have understood it at all 😄 I have to praise the guide, Xiao Xu (Xu Jinrui), for his excellent and captivating explanations! For the first time in a museum, I didn't feel the weight of history, but rather an extremely avant-garde sense of science fiction!

I really enjoyed the atmosphere here; it's a lovely garden scenic spot. Du Fu was truly Du Fu—he knew how to choose a place to settle down! Although his own thatched cottage was very simple, the location he chose was truly beautiful and ideal for living. In short, I really liked this place! At first, I thought the ticket price was a bit expensive before going inside, but after walking around, I found it was definitely worth it.
If you're interested in Tang poetry, you definitely should go; it's best to rent an audio guide or hire a guide. Even if you know nothing about it, it's still a great place to stroll around like in a park 👍 The maple leaves are red, and there are also ginkgo trees perfect for taking photos; the scenery is beautiful. There are also some museums and bonsai gardens where you can admire plants. Even a quick visit and some photos took over an hour, and the subway station near the entrance isn't open yet.

Definitely worth a visit—and not crowded! I went around 2 PM during feeding time and got to watch the pandas enjoying their lunch while the red pandas were napping afterward. Dujiangyan is a great place to see these amazing animals and also check out the famous Nanqiao Bridge. I’d love to come back again!

I heard the Jinsha Site Museum was about to close, so I rushed over to check it out. The park is beautiful, and the exhibition halls have many treasures. The famous Sun Bird gold ornament is very beautiful. The whole visit took about 2 hours, and it was a good experience. I look forward to it reopening in 2 years.
On my first trip to Sichuan, I headed straight to the Jinsha Site, highly recommended by a friend—less crowded, a better experience, and it holds the ancient Shu romance that shares the same lineage as Sanxingdui. Upon entering the park, the Sun Bird gold foil is a must-see. On the paper-thin gold sheet, four divine birds are depicted head to tail, their forms reflecting the light and shadow of three thousand years ago. The bronze tree fragments, with their intricate patterns, reveal the ancient Shu people's worship of heaven and earth. Tons of ivory and warm jade cong and zhang silently tell the story of the ancient Shu Kingdom's sacrificial traditions. These artifacts, though not crowded, use details to depict the brilliance of the ancient Shu civilization. A visit here feels both historically weighty and unhurried, perfect for a leisurely experience.

Chengdu's Wenshufang, located at No. 66 Wenshuyuan Street in Qingyang District, is a national AAAA-level open-air historical and cultural district built around the ancient Wenshuyuan Temple. Admission is free and the area is open 24 hours a day, though it's recommended to plan a three- to four-hour visit. The district's architectural style is inspired by traditional western Sichuan courtyards, with blue tiles, white walls, and carved eaves. This creates a unique "courtyard-style commercial street" feel, earning it the nickname "Chengdu's Double Embroidery"—the sound of Buddhist chants echoes within the red walls, while the bustling market life unfolds beyond. Wenshufang's core identity can be summarized as "Zen culture combined with traditional Chengdu folk customs." Within the district, there's a temple every 100 steps and a pagoda every 1,000 steps. In addition to Wenshuyuan Temple (built in the Sui Dynasty and inscribed by Emperor Kangxi), the district also preserves the remains of the "Nine Palaces and Eighteen Temples," including the Five Mountains Palace, Lengjia Nunnery, and Aido Hall. This area boasts the most concentrated religious and cultural heritage in Chengdu's old city. Building on this foundation, the neighborhood has incorporated elements such as the "Empty Forest Zen Road" market for Zen-inspired goods, the "Manjusri Blessed Land" cluster of protected courtyards, the "Folk Old Street" offering intangible cultural heritage crafts, the "Chengdu Salon" teahouse featuring antiques, calligraphy, and paintings, as well as the "Old Chengdu Food Court" and "Tianzi Food Hall." This all-in-one experience combines incense worship, Hanfu travel photography, gaiwan tea, Sichuan Opera face-changing, and century-old snacks (such as dragon wontons, Zhong dumplings, and Lai glutinous rice balls). The atmosphere is enhanced by the lighting of lanterns at night. Wenshufang is a free historical district offering the most concentrated and convenient experience of old Chengdu: burning incense, enjoying vegetarian food, drinking tea, watching opera, strolling the ancient streets, enjoying snacks, shopping for cultural products, and photographing Hanfu costumes. For a quick experience of slow living and the essence of Zen, simply add this area to your half-day itinerary.
Enjoy an authentic Sichuan opera performance at the Liyuan Guildhall while sipping large bowls of tea. The show consists of nine performances, and the finale, the face-changing, was the most memorable. The 70-minute performance was packed with action and highly recommended.

The Chengdu Museum holds various exhibitions from time to time. It has a great location, right next to the subway exit. Regular exhibitions are free, but reservations are required. Some solo exhibitions require additional tickets.
A highly recommended museum to visit. As a national museum, it not only boasts a vast collection of artifacts but also offers unique services and a variety of charming cultural and creative products. Volunteer guide Ms. Yuan's explanations were particularly excellent and captivating!

This was the most satisfying hotel of the trip. It's a large hotel with many places to explore. We saw swans, and even casual snapshots turned out quite nice. The park was well-maintained. The staff were also very welcoming and attentive. I'm planning a second stay with my family.
The most worthwhile part to see are the various dinosaur skeletons, which are quite impressive. The tour also introduces some of Sichuan's geological features, including specimens and replicas of natural landscapes from the upper layers. It showcases many different types of animals, making it suitable for educational outings with children and for young people looking for a fun and interesting experience.

How could you visit Sichuan without seeing pandas! After doing a lot of research, I chose this base where I could get up close and personal with them. Traveling during the off-season was perfect – less crowded and a truly immersive experience! The weather was just right, neither too hot nor too cold, ideal for watching the pandas frolic. It turns out these adorable pandas are actually "hidden beasts" – you can only observe them quietly up close, not touch them, which adds to their charmingly wild side. Watching them happily devour bamboo shoots or roll around and nap, their endearing antics were captivating. The entire experience was immersive and therapeutic, a truly relaxing and therapeutic experience. I definitely want to bring my kids next time to experience the joy of being a panda "cat servant"!
I chose this place between the Panda Garden and Panda Valley, mainly because it's close to my accommodation 😄. I was lucky; I saw many pandas active and eating. There are three main enclosures with both giant and red pandas.
