Honestly the best museum in Gdansk. Very informative and moving. The exhibitions and set up of the museum is remarkable.
The World War II Museum in Gdansk is indeed a place worth visiting. It comprehensively introduces the background of World War II and has unique exhibits. Visitors can learn many interesting and atypical facts about the daily lives of soldiers and citizens, as well as some daily necessities for survival. However it focuses mainly on the Nazis and Poland, as Gdańsk was the origin of World War II; while East Asia is rarely mentioned. The museum is huge, so if you want to visit it thoroughly, it is recommended to reserve at least 7-8 hours or even two days. There is a restaurant inside the museum that offers reasonably priced European lunches (main courses are about HKD 80). From May 2024, it will be closed on Mondays and free on Tuesdays. But Tuesday opening hours from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. are not enough for people like this. Detailed exhibition! Other days the opening hours are longer (should be until 6pm? In fact in Gdańsk most museums are closed on Monday/Tuesday, and open free on the other day Tuesday, free admission on another day

The Neptune Fountain in Gdansk is a magnificent and iconic piece of art that stands as a symbol of the city's maritime heritage and artistic prowess. This ornate masterpiece was crafted by the German sculptor, Abraham van den Blocke, in the early 17th century.Located in the heart of the bustling Long Market, the Neptune Fountain is an exquisite representation of the sea god, Neptune, sitting atop a colossal seashell chariot. The figure of Neptune, crowned with a trident, exudes power and grace. Surrounding him are intricate sculptures and bas-reliefs, depicting scenes from Greek mythology and Gdansk's maritime history.Visitors can admire the fountain's craftsmanship, intricate details, and its significance to the city, as it serves as a reminder of Gdansk's historical connection to the sea and its enduring artistic heritage. It is a must-see attraction for anyone exploring this enchanting city.
Beautiful little fountain in the Old City, you can miss it if you’re not careful so remember to be on the lookout for the fountain amongst the lovely backdrop of the colorful buildings.
