After many years, I came to Manchester Art Gallery again. The human sculpture hanging on the stairs instantly brought me back to my student days. I can't remember other works of art very clearly, but this hanging black mesh human body has always been imprinted in my mind.
This time I noticed a small Chinese exhibition, which tells the changes in the lives of Chinese who immigrated to the UK from all over the world after World War II. The text description mentioned: China, Hong Kong, Macau, Taiwan... Later I discussed this with my British friends and came to a conclusion that many non-mainland Chinese abroad really do not recognize their Chinese identity. Given the relationship between the UK and Hong Kong, the locals can only add fuel to the flames, and the Chinese who immigrated overseas decades ago will not have much identification with the one-China policy.
