It's a very small botanical garden. The main attraction is watching monkeys bathing in the hot spring, which is quite interesting. There is a beach behind, where you can walk. There is a noodle shop nearby. It's OK.
The Hakodate Tropical Botanical Garden is located in Yunokawa, a famous hot spring resort. Tropical plants are quite rare in Hokkaido, after all, it is in the north. But if you are a tourist, going to the north to see tropical plants is a matter of whether you have time or not. After all, you can go to Xishuangbanna, Thailand, and Singapore. For non-local tourists, the biggest feature of this botanical garden is that it raises Japanese macaques that take a hot spring bath. Those who have not seen it can come and see it. Of course, this monkey project is also artificial. If you want to see it naturally, you have to go to Noboribetsu Jigokudani.

Hakodate faces Honshu and is the gateway from the main area of the Japanese archipelago to Hokkaido. Here you can easily experience the many customs of Hokkaido, and Yunokawa is a good destination to experience the hot springs of the snow country. Yunokawa Hot Spring Village has many hot spring hotels and inns. It is a well-developed hot spring resort. The tram can go directly from the city. You can easily soak in the hot springs to see the sea, bathe your feet in the hot springs, and watch monkeys soak in the hot springs. Of course, the monkeys here are specially raised, unlike the wild ones in Noboribetsu Jigokudani.
A hot spring very close to Goryokaku Park, and the transportation is very convenient. We didn't take a hot spring bath here due to our schedule, but judging from its size and the fact that there are many guests, it should be a very good hot spring.
