Gödöllő Palace
Hungary was the favorite place of Princess Sissi, so Princess Sissi was loved by the Hungarian people throughout her life. In Hungary, Princess Sissi was respected and admired without doubt. Wherever Sissi had been, there would be "SiSi" as a sign on the tourist map of Hungary.
Gödöllő Palace, also known as Grassarkovich Palace, is often directly called "Sissi Castle". It was built in the 18th century and was once a manor of Hungarian nobles. After the establishment of the Austro-Hungarian Empire, Hungarian nobles renovated the manor castle and presented it to Habsburg King Joseph and Queen Elizabeth (Princess Sissi). Since then, it has been used as a palace for the Austrian king to visit Hungary. The palace also preserves many of Princess Sissi's supplies and many precious portrait oil paintings. Since photography is not allowed indoors (I really don't like this kind of petty-mindedness), I can only take some photos at the gate and back garden.
The ticket for the castle is 2,600 forints.
