The European Ranch Train runs every hour in the morning, lasting about 50 minutes. A sign prohibits bringing in food, so we bought a bucket of carrots at the entrance for 10 yuan and stowed some in our own bags. We then restocked our feeds (carrots). The train runs very slowly, stopping three times to feed the pigs and alpacas, the kangaroos (who refused to eat), and the cows (who ate voraciously). The rest of the animals were fed from a distance (compared to the Taihu Dragon Dream, which was much more fun).
Zhongnan Baicao Garden: It's incredibly large (zoo, botanical garden, and Happy World), and walking wasn't an option for two adults and two children, so we rented an electric car (1.6 yuan per minute, 48 yuan for a minimum of half an hour), for a total of 246 yuan. The sightseeing bus costs 10 yuan per person, and children over two years old are charged. It's a one-way trip and only stops at the zoo and Happy World. Both are quite large, and walking is quite challenging. Renting a car is more expensive, but it's a better value.
The Botanical Garden is just a forest with nothing much to see. The zoo is average, with lots of animals, especially the tigers. They're all very peaceful, sleeping sprawled out. There's plenty to feed the African animals in the area. I brought 5 pounds of carrots and cabbage, and I almost finished them all. (Comparatively, the Nantong Wildlife Park self-drive tour is much more fun.)
Happy World has a lot of rides, but since my child wasn't tall enough, I didn't explore them in detail.
