The full name of the Birla Temple is "Birla Lakshmi Narayan Temple". It is a modern marble building on a mountain. It was built in 1986 and is relatively new, so we just visited the periphery and left.
The temple was built in 1986 and is a modern temple made of white marble. The deity Vishnu (a trinity of Hindu gods) and his consort Lakshmi (the goddess of wealth and good luck) are enshrined here. The sunset casts a pink and golden light on the Birla Temple, and its white body becomes blushing and shy. Some people say that Indian architecture likes to use white. Indeed, coming here can prove that no color can replace the holiness and perfection of white. The colored glass depicts scenes from the Hindu scriptures. The main god enshrined in the temple is Ganesh, the protector of the family. The marble is of fine quality. When you enter the temple and look back at the entrance, you can see the reflection of Ganesh carved on the lintel on the almost transparent marble surface.
It is a private temple of the Birla family, the second largest conglomerate in India. Its founder, Gonsaya Birla, met Mahatma Gandhi and became Gandhi's unwavering follower, leading the entire family to provide financial support for India's independence movement. Of course, his political investment won rich returns. Thanks to government support, the Birla family became a famous and prosperous family that controls the economic lifeline of India.
It is one of the first temples in India without caste restrictions. Therefore, Mahatma Gandhi, who has always opposed the exclusion of low castes, attended the first worship event after the temple was built.
