The place is really cool, I just went to discover it, it needs a full day to visit each part of it and I feel it worth so I might consider coming back again for a visit
It's such a big park. The ticket price is discounted because it's not fully completed yet (children get half-price tickets for two children). It's very cost-effective... If you really want to visit every building, it will take a whole day, so there are so many people queuing for the free sightseeing bus!

This is nice place with the colonial buildings and a good spaceous square. Its surrounded by good cafes and restaurant. I enjoyed staying at a restaurant cafe to enjoy the view.
I visited Kota Tua last August, and it was an incredible experience. The area's colonial architecture and historical charm made it feel like stepping back in time. As I wandered through Fatahillah Square, with the grand Jakarta History Museum at its heart, I could easily imagine what life must have been like during the old Batavia days. The square was bustling with people, performers, and local vendors, adding a lively touch to the atmosphere.I also visited the Museum Bank Indonesia, which gave me a deeper appreciation of Jakarta’s history and its role in the region. The cobblestone streets and old buildings created a perfect setting for leisurely exploration. What I enjoyed most was the blend of history and modern life. While the historical landmarks told stories of the past, the area was filled with artists, street food vendors, and vibrant energy. Visiting Kota Tua in August was like experiencing the spirit of Jakarta's rich heritage, and it’s a place I highly recommend for anyone interested in the city’s past.

There is a historic cathedral in Central Jakarta. It is a European building and looks very majestic from the outside. It is still in operation and has holy meetings. Many believers come here to worship Jesus.
The Jakarta Cathedral is a very beautiful building with a very clever design inside. It is an ancient building and very beautiful inside. When I first arrived, there was a pastor preaching, so I went in and took a look. It's good and worth visiting.

The National Museum of Indonesia (NNI) formerly served as the Batavia Art and Science Society, established by the Dutch government. Therefore, the current building retains its Dutch European style. It was closed for over a year and recently reopened. It is divided into two areas: the old area has six themed exhibition halls, and the new area has four. The most eye-catching feature at the entrance is the sculpture of the God of Destruction. Its Indian-style design creates a sinister aura, and it is one of the few depictions of Shiva with a sinister image in the world. Then there is a bronze statue presented by King Rama V in 1871. Of course, the museum's crowning jewel is the Bodhisattva statue on the second floor, which is exquisitely crafted. It was previously enclosed in a glass case, but now it is completely uncovered. There are also art galleries and various cultural centers scattered throughout the museum. However, for a multi-ethnic country like Indonesia, a national museum like this doesn't quite match the rich cultural heritage of the country, whether in terms of history or humanities. Tickets are affordable, and you can explore it in half a day.
If you are a first time visitor to Indonesia, and you are arriving through Jakarta, the National Museum of Indonesia, right smack in the city centre, is a must visit as it is a comprehensive well-explained museum that gives you a good introduction to the diverse tapestry that is Indonesia. Two things in particular stand out. First, you will see an entire garden filled with statues from Hindu mythology, showing the immense role that Hinduism played in the early history of Southeast Asia. The second is the display of Indonesia’s many diverse ethnic groups. There is a huge map that shows you that, but what I liked more was the interactive segment where you could scan your face and the machine would tell you which ethnic group you resemble! For me I was matched with Sangir people!

A well worth visit for children especially. Bear in mind there's an entrance fee then access need for the 3 places in the park.

Throw back to the visiting the Merdeka square in Jakarta. Hope to visit this beautiful city again! 🥹
The Independence Square in Jakarta is very large. There is a National Heroes Monument in the middle, which is very spectacular. There is a music pool and a statue of a galloping horse. There is a small train for children to play in the middle.

Don't go on Friday!!! Ctrip says it's open all year round, but that's not the case at all! Friday is the day Muslims go to the mosque to pray, so it's not open to outside tourists! The information on Ctrip should have been updated long ago, it made us go in vain! From the outside, the size of this mosque is still good, and the interior should be worth visiting
The largest mosque in Indonesia and Southeast Asia. Built as a place of worship and a reminder of the struggle and harmony of the nation's children.

The country of Qiandao is well-deserved, and the island is very quiet and there are holiday houses. You can dive, swim, sunbathe, fish, and be very free. The disadvantage is that the cruise ship is too slow, Indonesians have no time concept, and they grind back and forth for six hours.
The seawater is very clean, the island is small, and there are few people. It is pure nature, without any commercial atmosphere. It is suitable for daydreaming and relaxing. Take a boat from Dermaga Marina Ancol Pier 19, which leaves at 8 am. It takes 2 hours to reach Sepa Island. This address can be searched on Grab and Google Maps.

Chinatown, this is the Chinatown area in West Jakarta, witnessing the huge Chinese population. Every country in the world has its own Chinatown, thanks to the talents of the Chinese. When you walk into the Chinese settlement, you will feel very close, like a family member you haven't seen for a long time. There are many shops that specialize in business with tourists, who like to bargain, which is very interesting.
Today I flew from Singapore for more than 2 hours to Jakarta. The first attraction I visited was Chinatown. I saw a big sign for Chinatown after I passed the traffic light at the intersection. I walked around a few times and found that there were a lot of people.

What a magnificent national monument. The top is made of 35kg of gold, shining brightly under the sun. There is an entrance at the base, and there is a museum underground. There is also an elevator that goes straight to the top of the monument to see the scenery. Good.
The Indonesian National Independence Monument is located in the center of the Independence Square.
