Located at the most precipitous point of the fault zone between the Loess Plateau and the Central Plains, Wangmangling Scenic Area is a typical example of Zhangshiyan landform and a quintessential representation of the 800-li Taihang Mountains landscape.
The Wangmangling Scenic Area comprises four scenic systems: Wangmangling, Xiyagou, Kunshan, and Liuxiucheng. Its highest elevation exceeds 1700 meters, while its lowest point drops to only about 300 meters within Huixian City, Henan Province, making it the highest peak in the southern Taihang Mountains. The Wangmangling Scenic Area boasts stunning natural landscapes, including seas of clouds, sunrises, unique peaks, pine forests, cliffside roads, red rock canyons, and multi-tiered waterfalls, forming the most famous natural scenery in the 800-li Taihang Mountains. It is renowned as a "cool and serene paradise," a "summer retreat," a "Shangri-La," and the "Supreme of Taihang."
