Whenever night falls and the lights come on, the Starlight Night Market is full of lights and is extremely charming. There are countless special foods, a wide range of intangible cultural heritage handicrafts, ethnic performances that are constantly performed, and ethnic travel photos everywhere... It has everything. Walking through it, the colorful flavors of sour, sweet, bitter, spicy and salty will make people linger.
The Xingguang Night Market is a popular online check-in spot, and after visiting, I truly lived up to its reputation! With over 3,000 stalls along the Lancang River and next to the Shwedagon Pagoda, even walking around it tires your legs, let alone the endless array of ethnic and even international cuisine, beers from various countries, and performances. It's hard to keep up.
The quaint, ethnic architecture and the magnificent Lancang River views are breathtaking. After nightfall, the night market is ablaze with lights and twinkling stars. It's a night of both exhaustion and joy. 😍

"New Dai Show" has the highest rating among at least the three shows in Jinghong City. I have watched "A Thousand Years of Love" and "Princess Wencheng" shows in Lhasa many times. It feels similar to the "A Thousand Years of Love" series. It is clear that the cast and crew are dedicated and affectionate. The boys and girls are handsome and beautiful.
I think the fact that dinner was included, the price for the show plus the dinner makes it worth it. Do not expect a fancy treatment, though. The canteen was a little bit chaotic with people fighting for an eat-all-you-can buffet style, where you had cold and hot sections and some orange juice. The place was not that clean and some people didn't know how to line-up. The show was nice, even without any translation, it was still understandable. The theater needs some renovation. I still recommend it since the place is near the night market, and the aftershow included a psycholedilc bonfire. Then end your night with a massage inside the night market.

At 20:40 on March 19, 2025, I bought a bag of dried jackfruit for 5 yuan. It tasted good. I ate while watching. It rained today, so it was not crowded.
The night market by the river is a night market that locals like to go to. It is usually very popular and crowded. The night market mainly features food and handicrafts, including Dai barbecue snacks, freshly squeezed juice, banana Balada and other special snacks. You can eat from the beginning to the end of the street without getting bored.
The snacks are concentrated in the southern section, and the stalls near the bridge in the north are handicrafts.
There are fewer people in the riverside night market on rainy days. On March 19, 2025, I rode an electric bike to the vicinity of Xishuangbanna Bridge (also known as the New Bridge). Take a break under the bridge, hide for a while, take pictures of the Starlight Night Market and Xishuangbanna Bridge opposite Gaozhuang, and then visit the riverside night market. The riverside night market is located on the side of the riverside park on Binjiang Avenue, Jinghong City, Xishuangbanna, separated from the Lancang River by Binjiang Avenue. The riverside night market is above the embankment, and you need to climb stairs up and down. The starting point is near the Xishuangbanna Bridge, and the end point is in the south, which may be one kilometer long.

Walking along the plank road in the Dai village water town, you will find many tropical plants, such as red mulberry, red-flowered Crinum, heliconia, red-calyx Clerodendrum, traveler's banana, red-bracted flower, mimosa, spur bean, croton, areca palm, cordyline, cordyline flowers, Datura, and so on.
After walking for what felt like about 1 kilometer, we saw a wall with sculptures of Xishuangbanna style on it. Next to it was a bridge. The reflections there were particularly beautiful. We were already close to the main attractions of the Dai Village Water City.
