It is most convenient to take a taxi to Manting Royal Garden. The entrance of the scenic area is not big but very prosperous. There are various restaurants, supermarkets, Dai makeup... There is even a small Buddhist temple next to it for sitting and watching; the most convenient thing is the washbasin everywhere, which is really humanized, which is also the common feature of almost the whole Yunnan. After entering the door, you can visit in a counterclockwise or clockwise direction. The scenic area is not too big, and you can wander around the river at will. If you come in the golden light of the morning and evening, then congratulations, because you will dress up like many locals, pose in various ways, take pictures and be conceited... If you are lucky, you can also encounter performances on the river, that is, boatmen in ancient costumes rowing and singing, slowly passing by. Don't forget to go inside, there is a Royal Elephant Park, where there are elephant performances at fixed points, which children should like very much. Take a photo with the huge parrot on the roadside (of course, it is charged), buy one or two beautiful frangipani flowers (3 yuan each), and stop to learn about the origin of the "Palm Leaf Sutra" when you see it. You can stop by the Xishuangbanna Main Buddhist Temple to see the local architecture and you may even run into monks from all over the country who are here to pay their respects... In short, this trip is definitely worthwhile.
