Sand Soup Hot Spring is a crater lake, so even the gravel by the lake is hot. There are many chairs for tourists to soak their feet in Sand Soup Hot Spring, and there is a hot spring pool next to it for washing feet, all free of charge.
In the quiet and peaceful world of ice and snow, Sulphur Mountain is brisk and joyful. Above the white snow, the crater of Sulphur Volcano is surging with springs, the clouds are steaming, and the ice and snow are boiling and joyful! On one side of the mountain, there is steam rising, and on the other side, there is an endless world of tranquility. All the clutter is dissolved in the snow, and as far as the eye can see, there are only pure white snow shadows and glittering sunlight.

The Kamisui River, which flows from the foot of Mt. Io to the Sea of Okhotsk, is about 3 kilometers long. Hot springs flow into the river, and the river as a whole is like a gurgling hot spring, forming a rare waterfall pool in Japan, so it is famous for being able to enjoy natural open-air hot springs. The Kamisui Falls on the downstream coast can only be viewed from the sea, and the scenery of the waterfall pouring down rapidly is amazing.
I went there in winter, and there were few shops in the town, and many of them were closed. The only thing open was the JR station... a very, very small station, much smaller than the one in Kushiro. But! There is a very delicious dessert shop here. I was warm while waiting for the JR train. I ordered another cake, which was made that day, and it was delicious. Hokkaido desserts are really classic flavors that you can't miss. They are not as sweet as those in the West, but a little more mellow.
