It's a truly breathtaking place. When you reach the waterfall, the water splashes into the air, and the sound of the Yellow River is like thunder. Even under scorching sun, standing by the waterfall will cool you down and get soaked by the mist, so bring a raincoat. It's definitely worth the trip; photos and videos can't capture the breathtaking spectacle of what you see with your own eyes.
This attraction is absolutely amazing! The scenery is incredibly captivating and breathtaking. The service is exceptionally attentive, and the staff are friendly and professional. The facilities are excellent, and the experience is fantastic. It's definitely worth a visit and highly recommended!

The scenic area's shuttle service was average, but the fare was cheap. There was nowhere to put the stroller on the bus, and the staff just watched and refused to help. The service was lacking. The guide we hired was quite good at explaining the tour.
I stayed in Taiyuan for 2 nights. It's a bit further from the city center than the Jin Temple. Although it was off-season, there were still a lot of people. I listened to the official audio guide briefly and followed the instructions to walk around. It took about 2-3 hours. It's still worth the trip. There is a museum inside and a large park outside. Many local elderly people come here for a walk.

There are many attractions in the city, so it's best to set aside a full day to visit. Xietongqing, the Confucian Temple, and the Pingyao County Yamen are all worth visiting. The county yamen has a court performance, so you can go there in advance to wait for it to start. There are many places to eat in the ancient city. I recommend Tianyuankui. The food is very good, the service is great, and the price is quite affordable with the coupon.
The Pingyao City Wall is located in Pingyao County, Jinzhong City, Shanxi Province. It was first built during the reign of King Xuan of the Western Zhou Dynasty (827-728 BC) and covers an area of approximately 85,690 square meters. The western and northern sides of the wall were built by the Western Zhou general Yin Jifu when he stationed troops here during his northern expedition against the Xianyun. It is a national cultural relic protection unit.

It is so exquisite that I am speechless. I admire and respect the wisdom of the ancients, whether it is dustproof or structure, construction, or grasp of details, I am in awe.
Xiaoxitian Temple in Xi County, Shanxi Province. Black Myth: Wukong, China's first truly global AAA single-player action role-playing game, released on August 20, 2024, features 36 major filming locations across China, with this location being the most famous. Following the game's release, Xi County, Shanxi Province, a small, mostly unknown county, has been flooded with tourists... They spend two hours taking photos (no flash), glittering with the sight of the gods and Buddhas. This is a nationally protected cultural relic, illuminated only by natural light, from 7:30 AM to 10:00 AM daily. The earlier you go, the better; after 10 AM, the main hall becomes difficult to see.

Hukou Waterfall on the Yellow River is a Chinese wonder worth a once-in-a-lifetime visit. It's recommended to view it from either Shaanxi or Shanxi Province. From the Shaanxi side, traditional buildings are dotted with scattered red flags. Shaanxi offers magnificent views of Hukou, with its cascading rock formations along the shore. Stand by the river and marvel at the cascading, geometric structure of the waterfall. Ke Zhenliang leaped over Hukou Waterfall on the Yellow River, watched by millions. A sculpture commemorates his impossible feat.
There is no feeling of high mountains and flowing water. The ticket is too expensive and not worth it. You have to take a bus to get in. The bus stop is quite far away. It is a natural scenic spot that is too commercialized.

On the last day in Mount Wutai, our tour guide Xiao Zhao took us to visit the temples in the central scenic area and told us many interesting stories, which brought our trip to Shanxi to a perfect end.
If you have faith, go to Mount Wutai. If you like taking photos, go to Mount Wutai. If you hike, you must climb to the Big Snail Peak. Climb the 1,008 steps to see all the other mountains. The mountain is in the clouds, the temple is in the mountain, and you are in the temple.

Of the nine great fortresses in China, Yanmen Pass is the most important. Yanmen Pass is considered the most fortified fortress in the world. The layout of the entire scenic area evokes memories of the great achievements of celebrities throughout history. The scenery is also unique and well worth a visit.
The Yanmenguan scenic area is very large. There are places to eat and some real estate stores in the border trade street. It is not bad and the price/performance ratio is good. The Great Wall ruins are worth visiting. Wengcheng, the city gate, and the ancient ruins seem to feel the time

The tour guide spoke very well and was very patient. I learned a lot about the history of Qiao Family Courtyard. She asked questions and took photos as we walked. There were also elderly people present. The explanation, which was supposed to last from one to one and a half hours, stretched to two hours without any impatience. I was very happy.
The Qiao Family Compound is a famous residential complex in Shanxi Province, located in Qiaojiabao, Qi County. The family's fortune began with the first owner, Qiao Guifa, who, due to poverty, ventured out to explore the countryside. He made friends with fellow villagers and gradually built his fortune by selling tofu. The Qiao Family Compound boasts numerous exquisite brick and wood carvings, including a carp leaping over a dragon's gate and abundant grapes. The Qiao family's back garden is also quite impressive.

It is quite large, and only a part of it is open to the public at present. The through bus has a reserved visiting time of 2.5 hours, which starts at 8 am, arrives at 9 am, and returns at 11:30 am, so the time is a bit tight.
The scale and grandeur of the Wang Family Courtyard far exceeded my expectations. It's more like a complete castle than a courtyard. It's definitely worth a day trip from Pingyao. Be sure to ask for a guided tour! Otherwise, it's hard to see the whole thing!

The scenic area is large in scale, with water as its soul and mountains as its scenery. The mountains and waters are intertwined, and the beautiful scenery is endless. The tour itinerary is well arranged, relaxing, and the check-in points are outstanding. It is worth visiting again!
❗️❗️ Special Reminders 1️⃣ We strongly recommend arriving a day early and staying overnight in a B&B near the Baquanxia parking lot. Enter the scenic area at 7:00 AM the next day. You can go rafting in Qinglong Gorge the afternoon before. 2️⃣ If you can't enter the scenic area before 8:00 AM, don't come! We strongly advise against coming in the afternoon; it's very hot and crowded, and you'll definitely run into trouble if you don't heed the advice. 3️⃣ Arrive early. Route A is recommended (buy a ticket on a certain route). The scenery is all in the first half of Route A, allowing you to take beautiful photos while you're most energetic. The canyon is very cool in the morning, and if you walk quickly, you can get out before noon. [Detailed Itinerary] 🚣🏼August 6th (Wednesday) Chartered car from Changzhi East Station directly to Qinglongxia River Rafting. Opening hours: 1:00 PM - 4:00 PM. The water is cool and quite exciting. It's recommended to arrive early to avoid crowds. We checked in at 1:30 PM and had to queue for the shuttle bus to the river. We finished our swim and shower at 3:20 PM. Reminders: 1️⃣ Purchase your ticket online an hour in advance to get it checked in; otherwise, you'll have to buy it on-site. 2️⃣ You'll get soaked, so you don't need a raincoat. You can buy slippers, water guns, and buckets on-site. Luggage storage is available. 3️⃣ Make sure you bring a change of clothes! Swimsuits are welcome. There's a simple shower, so bring shampoo and shower gel. 4️⃣ You can get a ride from the parking lot to Baquan Gorge for 30 RMB. ⛰️August 7 (Thursday) Baquan Gorge 7:35 AM - Walk from the B&B to Parking Lot 2. Take the free scenic area shuttle for 2 minutes to the scenic area gate. There are a lot of people checking in, so you'll have to wait in line. Pitfall 1️⃣: If you're not driving, you still need to enter the parking lot to take the bus! Don't wait outside on the roadside. Pitfall 2️⃣: Be sure to buy your ticket online in advance! Enter by scanning your ID card. Tickets purchased on-site are often crowded and require a line. 7:50 AM - Sightseeing bus ride (waited in line for half an hour, the longest of the day. There were 15 people per bus, so it was a bit slow). Pitfall 3: Line B is in the left column, Line A is in the right column. Don't stand in the wrong row. 8:20 AM - The sightseeing bus takes 3 minutes to the tunnel entrance. A 5-minute walk through the tunnel leads to the cruise ship terminal. It wasn't crowded, so boarding was quick. 8:40 AM - Cruise departs. Upon disembarking, you'll find the Eight Springs Heart checkpoint. Then walk through the canyon. It's not too hot or too sunny. We spent a long time taking photos, taking 3 hours. The walk to the cable car normally takes 1-2 hours. 11:50 AM - Arrived at the cable car station. Lines lined up for the cable car 🚠, which went over several hills. After getting off, there were places to eat. We didn't climb up to the Jade Emperor Pavilion, but you can go to the back of the pavilion to see the scenery (p4). There were no other attractions after that, so we had to transfer to other small public transportation. Took the Sky Bus. Scan the QR code to buy a ticket for 20 yuan, which is recommended. The walk down the mountain takes 40 minutes. There's no shade along that stretch, so it's very sunny. There were 30 people per trip, so we waited a short while before getting on. However, the line B was very long at that time, so there was no shade and it was very sunny. Then took the elevator. It was less crowded, so we waited for the first one and got on. 1:20 PM - After exiting the elevator, we arrived at the sightseeing bus stop. We exited the scenic area and took the scenic bus to Parking Lot 1. We arrived at Parking Lot 2 at 1:45 PM and returned to our B&B.
