The 28-minute cable car ride was quite interesting. Starting from the city center, I bought a ticket for Line A. We took the cable car first; it wasn't crowded. Walking up the mountain along the glass walkway wasn't tiring at all. I recommend taking the aerial cable car up the mountain.
This place is definitely worth visiting, but I think the entry ticket is a bit pricey! I'd be willing to pay around 180-200 RMB. Waiting in line wastes a lot of precious time, averaging two hours. I strongly recommend buying the VIP ticket for 100 RMB to avoid wasting time queuing for the cable car line – it's absolutely worth it!!! The cable car station to Tianmen Mountain is right in the city center, making it incredibly convenient! This has also led to the development of shopping malls, restaurants, and hotels in the surrounding area!

The weather was kind to us; it was predicted to rain, but when we arrived at Zhangjiajie National Forest Park early in the morning, it wasn't raining and there weren't many people. We chose the East Gate B line, taking the eco-friendly bus directly to the Bailong Elevator. Given the low number of visitors, it's understandable that only one elevator was operating. Why not open the better-viewed Elevator 1 instead of Elevator 3? We visited all the landmark attractions in Yuanjiajie, and the scenery was breathtaking. Next, we went to Yangjiajie to see the Natural Great Wall and Wulongzhai. I personally wouldn't recommend Wulongzhai; although there's the One-Line Sky and Tianbo Mansion behind it, the scenery wasn't particularly impressive. Considering how much we walked down and then exhausted ourselves returning the same way, it wasn't worth it. Next stop: Tianzi Mountain. The sun came out during our visit, and we saw and took many beautiful photos of places like Fairy Offering Flowers and Imperial Brush Peak. Finally, we took the cable car down the mountain and walked along the Ten-Mile Gallery, or you can choose to take the mini-train. The scenery was actually just average, not as stunning as from the top; it requires a bit of imagination. At the end, we thought the monkey park had wild monkeys, but they were actually caged and kept for visitors to observe. The public tour lasted 7 hours. The overall scenery was nice, but the signs at the attractions were really inadequate. The distances between attractions were quite far, and there were long stretches of road without signs. At the intersections, you had to choose one of two paths before you realized they were both leading to the same place. I wanted to see the attractions I wanted to see, but I was also afraid of getting lost.
On the first day, we entered from the East Gate, took the cable car up Tianzi Mountain, then visited Yangjiajie and Yuanjiajie, took the Bailong Elevator down, and then explored the Ten-Mile Gallery. On the second day, we spent half a day entering from the South Gate, taking the cable car up, exploring the Grand Loop, taking the cable car down, and walking along the Golden Whip Stream to the filming location of Journey to the West. Zhangjiajie's scenery is absolutely stunning and unique in the world. Transportation from the city to the scenic area and the shuttle buses at each gate of the forest park are very convenient, and the facilities within the scenic area are comprehensive. Prices within the scenic area are very reasonable; I ate there twice, and the prices were only slightly higher than in the city.

Fanjingshan In-Depth Guide: The Right Way to Unlock the "Sky City" I. Pre-Trip Reading: Avoiding Crowds and Weather Pitfalls 1. Best Time to Visit - Cloud Sea Season (April-May, September-October): Sunny and dry weather, high probability of sunrise and sunset, the surging sea of clouds is like a fairyland. - Summer Season (June-August): Temperatures 18-22℃, but frequent showers, bring raincoats; cable car may be temporarily closed due to strong winds, it is recommended to avoid weekends. - Snow and Ice Season (November-December): Frosty ice and ice formations are stunning, tickets are 50% off (for residents of the four provinces and cities of Wuling), but the Red Cloud Golden Summit may be closed due to snow accumulation, wear non-slip shoes. 2. Tickets and Reservations - Real-name Time-Slot Reservation: Purchase tickets 3-7 days in advance through the "Fanjingshan Tourist Area" WeChat official account, including the entrance ticket (100 yuan) + sightseeing bus (20 yuan). It is recommended to purchase cable car tickets (round trip 140 yuan) at the same time, as queuing on-site may exceed 2 hours. - Discount Policy: - From November 1st to December 31st, 2025, tourists from the four provinces and cities of Wuling (Guizhou, Chongqing, Hubei, and Hunan) will enjoy a 50% discount on entrance tickets (50 yuan/45 yuan). - Tourists nationwide can enjoy combined ticket discounts when purchasing "Fanjingshan + Related Scenic Spots" (such as Jiulong Cave and Shiqian Hot Spring). - Seniors aged 65 and above are admitted free of charge, but their ID cards must be verified on-site. 3. Transportation: - High-speed rail + bus: Guiyang North Station → Tongren South Station (1.5 hours), then transfer to a tourist bus to the East Gate of Fanjingshan (1.5 hours, fare 50 yuan). A new direct bus from Guiyang to Fanjingshan (departing from Huaguoyuan T1 area/Yan'an West Road old bus station) takes approximately 3 hours one way and costs 120 yuan. - By car: Navigate to "Fanjingshan Visitor Center". Parking is plentiful (20 RMB/day). After descending the mountain, you can book an official chauffeur service (150 RMB) to drive your car from the West Gate to the East Gate. II. Core Route: Classic Activities and Hidden Experiences 1. Time-saving and Effortless Version (Cable Car Round Trip) - Enter before 7:30 AM: Enter by scanning your ID card, take the sightseeing bus (20 minutes) → lower cable car station. - Take the cable car at 8:00 AM: A 15-minute cable car ride overlooking the primeval forest. After exiting the cable car, walk 40 minutes along a gentle boardwalk to Mushroom Rock. - Conquer the Red Cloud Golden Summit at 9:30 AM: Climb the iron chains using both hands and feet, reaching the summit in about 1 hour. Visit the Sakyamuni Hall and Maitreya Hall connected by the sky bridge, and take panoramic photos of the "Sky City". - Visit the Old Golden Summit and Chengen Temple at 12:00 PM: Walk 15 minutes from Mushroom Rock to the Old Golden Summit. After reaching the summit, return to the Chengen Temple ruins to experience the atmosphere of a thousand-year-old Buddhist kingdom. - 14:00 Return Trip: Return to the upper cable car station via the same route. After descending the mountain, you can visit Yunshe Village to experience Tujia culture. 2. Advanced Hiking Version (West Up, East Down) Enter from the West Gate: Take the shuttle bus to Mianxu Ridge, hike for 6-7 hours, passing the 10,000-meter Sleeping Buddha, Scissors Gorge, and the Ten-Month Pregnancy Tree, finally exiting the scenic area from the East Gate. PS: I entered and exited from the East Gate, staying at this guesthouse at the foot of Fanjingshan Mountain: Fanjingshan Yilu Gangwan Boutique Guesthouse. The environment was good, clean, and reasonably priced. Highly recommended!
Fanjingshan truly lives up to its name, the "Sky City": a journey to a fairyland on clouds. If there truly is a "Sky City," then Fanjingshan must resemble it. This sacred mountain in eastern Guizhou, perched high in the clouds, blends the wonders of nature with the ethereal beauty of the heavens and earth into a poetic landscape. Every step is breathtaking, every glance is healing. Its beauty is an ultimate visual impact. As you climb along the winding boardwalk, a sheer drop lies beneath your feet, and clouds surge around you. Two mushroom-shaped golden peaks appear and disappear in the sea of clouds, seemingly suspended between heaven and earth, making you feel as if you've stumbled into a secret realm of immortals. On sunny days, the golden peaks gleam in the sunlight, and the folds of the rock walls bear the marks of millions of years. On rainy days, clouds entwine the mountaintops, transforming the entire mountain into a flowing ink painting, each step revealing a new scene, each step a surprise. Its beauty is a serene cleansing of the soul. As the sacred site of Maitreya Bodhisattva, Mount Fanjing possesses an inherently solemn and tranquil aura. Ancient temples nestled amidst the forests intertwine with the sounds of morning bells and evening drums, birdsong, and the rustling of pines. Reaching the summit and overlooking the vast sea of clouds, all worries are carried away by the mountain breeze, leaving only inner peace and tranquility. Here, you can feel the immense power of nature and find your own unique serenity and peace. The beauty of Mount Fanjing is not merely a single landscape, but an immersive experience of "every step into a painting, every step into paradise," a must-visit destination for anyone yearning for freedom and a fairyland. P.S. This guesthouse at the foot of Mount Fanjing is truly amazing! 👍 Great value for money, and the owner is very kind! The rooftop garden is beautiful! Contact information is in the last picture.

The hotel environment is fantastic, with stunning views. The night view and the view of the Miao village from the balcony in the early morning are particularly beautiful. Since it was the off-season, the manager even upgraded our room for free. The service was also excellent; a young man picked up our luggage at the North Gate. The room had a smart toilet, bathtub, capsule coffee machine, and the bathtub had disposable liners and mugwort bath packs. Most importantly, the minced meat noodles for breakfast were incredibly delicious!!! Five stars!!!
My second visit to the Miao village was the same as before, but with the rain, it felt even more dramatic. The price of five-color sticky rice had doubled, which is normal! Prices outside have been rising for a few years now.

It was my first time in Changsha, and I chose to go to the Hunan Provincial Museum first. I saw the Mawangdui Han Tomb exhibits that I had only seen on TV before. The tour guide Xiao Xiao was very responsible and patient, and the explanation was very detailed. It was a great experience.
Today's visit to the Hunan Provincial Museum completely exceeded our expectations, thanks to our docent, Xiao Xiao. Instead of simply reading from a script, she brought the artifacts to life with vivid details. When discussing the brocade robes from the Mawangdui Han Tomb, she remarked, "Nobles over 2,000 years ago wore such lightweight, 'haute couture' garments." She spoke with impeccable speed and passion throughout, ensuring we didn't feel overwhelmed by information or miss any of the remarkable stories. At the end, she even shared many of her own photos. Her professional and engaging explanations allowed us to not only see the artifacts themselves, but also understand the history and culture behind them. If you visit the Hunan Provincial Museum, be sure to experience this unforgettable experience with Xiao Xiao.

A large park around the river. In addition to enjoying the breeze by the river, you can also see the large statue of Mao Zedong! It's a long way to get in from the subway, and the round trip bus cost 40 yuan, which is not cost-effective! I can only say that if you have nothing to do and have time, it's okay to take a walk if you like to exercise.
The night view is stunning. The light show makes it look bustling and prosperous. We took the train. It wasn't crowded. Most people went to see the giant statue of Chairman Mao. We enjoyed the breeze from the Xiang River. The view was also expansive. It's a shame our stay was short. We didn't get to see every scene in detail.

The scenic area has a good atmosphere and convenient transportation. It is next to the bustling Zhengyang Road Pedestrian Street. The scenery of the Two Rivers and Four Lakes Night Tour is beautiful, and the water performance is also wonderful. The customer service staff handles the problem in a timely manner. The water system is connected smoothly and leisurely. Recommended experience
Memories of the Two Rivers and Four Lakes ★Which two rivers are the Two Rivers? The Li River and the Taohua River. The famous Elephant Trunk Hill is located at the confluence of the two rivers. ★Which four lakes are the Four Lakes? 1. Shan Lake: Fir trees grow along the banks of Shan Lake, and the Sun and Moon Towers stand tall in the lake. The Sun Tower is a bronze tower located in the center of the lake, connected by an underwater aquarium. All its components are cast from steel and decorated with exquisite bronze murals. It is the tallest bronze tower in the world, the tallest copper building in the world, and the tallest underwater tower in the world. 2. Rong Lake: Banyan trees grow along the banks of Rong Lake. The Beidou Bridge in the lake connects the center island in the east and the ancient South Gate in the west. The bridge's shape and direction are based on the distribution of the Big Dipper, hence the name Beidou Bridge. The bridge deck and railings are made entirely of white marble, making it the longest white marble bridge in Guangxi. 3. Guihu Lake: Originally the moat of Guilin City during the Song Dynasty, Guihu Lake is now an exposition park showcasing renowned trees, flowers, herbs, gardens, and bridges. The lakeside boasts numerous scenic spots, including the Palm Garden and the Magnolia Garden. It also boasts numerous historical sites, including the Guihu Forest of Steles and the Ming and Qing Dynasty city walls. Bridges of diverse styles, such as the Xiqing Bridge and the Baoxian Bridge, are also located there. 4. Mulong Lake: Mulong Lake, an artificial lake excavated to connect the Li River and Neihu Lake, derives its name from the Mulong Cave above it. The scenic area, nestled within the ruins of the Song Dynasty East Town Gate and the Song Dynasty city walls, features a cluster of imitation Song Dynasty buildings, with the Mulong Tower being its landmark. Night Cruise of Two Rivers and Four Lakes On October 22, 2025, at 7:50 PM, I boarded the Shuiyun Guohu boat, enjoying the scenic beauty of the two rivers and four lakes, as well as the famous bridges and mountains along the way. I also got a close-up look at the Guihu Fishing Fire Show, including the osprey fishing show, the elegant rhythm of the Song Dynasty, the half-zither falling moon, and the light and shadow performances on the ancient city walls. I truly felt the essence of Guilin's landscape, where "the city is in the scenery, and the scenery is in the city," and fully enjoyed the dazzling charm of Guilin at night.

This summer, I took my child all the way from Taiwan to the renowned Elephant Trunk Hill Scenic Area. As soon as we stepped through the gates, the dreamlike natural scenery immediately captivated us! My child exclaimed, "This is more beautiful than anything I've seen in the media!" Only by experiencing it firsthand can you truly appreciate the boundless charm of this mountain and its surroundings! Strolling along the scenic paths, what impressed us most was the massive and unique Elephant Trunk Hill itself. Although it was the end of summer vacation, there were still a huge number of tourists, demonstrating the area's immense popularity. Elephant Trunk Hill Scenic Area is definitely worth a visit!
Arriving at Elephant Trunk Hill Scenic Area, the gentle waves of the Li River greet you... the mountains and river together create a magnificent landscape painting, constantly surprising and delighting you. The Li River's waters are as clear as a mirror, reflecting the mountain shadows, adding a touch of delicate poetry to the image of the giant elephant drinking water with its trunk. In the distance, the mountains are verdant, draped with vines, and occasionally a bird flies by, shattering its reflection in the water. Many tourists are captivated by the beautiful scenery before them. Every angle within the scenic area is a beautiful sight, bringing joy and delight!

Upstairs, there's a video of Du Fu's poem "Meeting Li Guinian Again in Jiangnan," which brought me to tears. "Often seen at Prince Qi's residence, heard many times before Cui Jiu's hall. It is indeed a beautiful scene in Jiangnan, meeting you again in the season of falling flowers." Ultimately, he died far from home, never returning to his native soil. Du Fu, a poet saint for all time, dedicated his life to his country and its people!
Regarding this place, it is highly recommended to visit here at the evening because the nightview is very resplendent.

Professional guides explain the scenic area, allowing you to learn about the history, culture, and customs of the Prince's Palace and Guilin, expanding your knowledge. From Duxiu Peak, you can see a panoramic view of Guilin City.
When I first arrive in a new place, I like to visit places with rich local culture. This time in Guilin, I chose the Jingwang Mansion. The ticket included a guided tour, which was very engaging. I even participated in making rubbings of the character "福" (fortune). This place is blessed with outstanding people and beautiful scenery. I recommend it to anyone who likes history and culture. Although many people don't recommend it, I feel it's much better than those trendy food streets and photo spots. This is the essence of travel.
