I recommend contacting a reputable travel agency to book a small tour suitable for your group size, with vehicles that can freely enter and exit the scenic area. This will provide a much better experience.
It is one of the few scenic spots where you can both climb the wall and see the sea. The only problem is that the parking lot is too tight and there is serious traffic jam nearby. However, the free parking is still very humane.

The queue was so long, we waited an hour and only got in for ten minutes. It was a real pain in the ass and I was sweating all over. The view from the top was pretty good. The cabin was also nice, with relatively new facilities and equipment.

The Tianjin TEDA aircraft carrier is a spectacular sight. A complete tour, both inside and out, should take two to three hours if you're in good physical condition. Shanhaiguan is a must-visit when visiting Qinhuangdao. This was my second time there, driving from Beijing. It was already 2 p.m. when I arrived. I went straight to the scenic area, but the parking lot was a bit far. I bought a package ticket for two adults and one child on Ctrip. It was convenient and quick. I could just scan my provincial ID or QR code, skipping the line and saving on water. The scenery was quite nice once inside, and the area was relatively clean. Climbing the city wall and gazing out over the mountains beyond the pass was a breathtaking sight. I hadn't had time to explore the ancient city before I headed to my next attraction, Laolongtou.
Shanhaiguan is worth a visit. The scenic spots are fun to visit and not tiring. You must navigate to the ticket gate from the parking lot. There are many places in front and you don’t need to take an electric car at all. The official parking lot of Gao Dedao is not at this location and you still have to take an electric car.

Shendiaoshan Wildlife Park was absolutely amazing! The park is a one-way street, with no backtracking. While there are some ups and downs, the sunshades, fans, and shade trees kept the heat and fatigue at bay. Food, drinks, and restrooms were conveniently located. The scenery in the second half of the trip was stunning, and the view of the ocean from the rhino area was breathtaking, rivaling even some famous attractions abroad. I'll definitely be back!
After a 10-year absence, I returned to the Shendiaoshan Wildlife Park and was still as pleasantly surprised! As one of the largest wildlife parks in Asia, the animals live in a pristine environment, all well-fed and healthy. There are plenty of places to feed the animals, all reasonably priced, allowing visitors to interact closely with the animals and experience a truly immersive experience. The Giraffe Restaurant in the African Animal Zone was also excellent, offering affordable food and the opportunity to feed the giraffes—it was a delight!
