Visiting the Chengdu Research Base during the morning session is the best advice you can follow! The pandas are at their most active, and we were incredibly fortunate to see the famous Hua Hua.The Experience:The base is beautifully laid out, more like a large, hilly park than a zoo. We headed straight to the area where Hua Hua is housed. There was a respectful crowd, but everyone was able to get a good view. She was sitting peacefully, enjoying her breakfast bamboo. Her distinctive features and sweet personality are even more charming in person. The staff were very professional, ensuring the pandas were not stressed and that the visitors moved along smoothly. The convenience of booking on Trip.com made the trip stress-free.
You really have to get up early to see pandas. We went around noon and everyone was still sleeping in. It wasn't as interesting as the pandas we'd seen before... We queued for almost an hour to see Hua Hua, but they were still sleeping at 2 PM. We ended up only getting to see their butts for 5 seconds before leaving...

Dujiangyan is over 60 kilometers from Chengdu city. The entrance fee to the scenic area is 80 yuan, and the sightseeing bus is 15 yuan, which I don't think is necessary. It's a very short walk. There's also an escalator to the top of the mountain; I don't know how much that costs. Baopingkou (Bottle-Neck Pass) is very beautiful; the river water is green. I didn't get to see the blue tears phenomenon at night.
A short gateway to enjoy the UNESCO rated sight with fresh air and interact with panda without the crowds, easy of transportation with train and didi, a MUST go when you are in Chengdu

Visiting the Sanxingdui exhibition definitely requires a guided tour! The automated guides feel too stiff; a human guide is much better. Miss Strawberry was incredibly dedicated throughout, explaining everything in great detail and answering all our questions. She helped us understand the history and this place with so many unsolved mysteries. The three-hour tour was tiring, but overall, it was well worth the trip!
My mind is officially blown! 🤯 Just visited the Sanxingdui Museum in Chengdu, and it's an experience I'll never forget. This isn't your typical ancient history—it feels like stepping onto another planet. The sheer scale and surreal artistry of the bronze masks with their protruding eyes and the towering Bronze Sacred Tree are humbling. And the 2.62-meter-tall Bronze Standing Figure... you have to see it in person to believe it.It completely reshapes the story of Chinese civilization. This isn't just a museum trip; it's a journey into the heart of a mysterious, advanced, and utterly fascinating culture that history almost forgot. An absolute MUST-DO if you're in Chengdu!

It's easy to hail a taxi nearby, the environment is great, and the cultural atmosphere is strong. I highly recommend bringing children here, as they can not only cultivate their minds but also broaden their horizons. The only drawback is that there are basically no restaurants near the main entrance, so getting food can be a problem.
A certain level of cultural understanding is needed to truly appreciate Du Fu and his thatched cottage. Even a visit to Du Fu's thatched cottage that sparks his interest, prompts him to recite his poems, and helps him learn about the events surrounding his life is worthwhile.

Mount Emei, also known as Mount Emei[22], is a branch of the Qionglai Mountains. It is located on the southwestern edge of the Sichuan Basin in China, between 29°16′ and 29°43′ north latitude and 103°10′ and 103°37′ east longitude. It rises from the Emei Plain and extends north and south for 105 kilometers. The main peaks are Mount Da'e, Mount Er'e, Mount San'e, and Mount Si'e. Mount Da'e is the Emei Mountain Scenic Area, covering an area of 154 square kilometers. The main peak is the Golden Summit, and the highest peak, Wanfo Peak, is 3099 meters above sea level.
Purchase tickets and cable car fares in advance. Enter the park with your ID card. Pack light. We bought tickets for the morning trip from the foot of Dabashan Mountain to Leipingdong (2 hours). Unfortunately, the weather wasn't great; the sea of clouds obscured the sun. The sunrise was absolutely stunning. We'll definitely come back to make up for it next time.

Chengdu's Wuhou Temple is the only Three Kingdoms holy site in China where a ruler and his ministers are worshipped together. For 50 yuan, you can visit Tang Dynasty steles, Qing Dynasty sculptures, and Liu Bei's tomb, then take some popular photos of the "red walls and bamboo shadows." Jinli Ancient Street is right outside the temple. Must-see highlights: ① Tang Dynasty Stele (“Three Perfections Stele”) – Inscribed by Pei Du and calligraphed by Liu Gongchuo, the earliest above-ground Three Kingdoms stele in China. ② Civil/Military Officials Corridor – 14 Qing Dynasty painted sculptures, showcasing the “all-stars” of Shu Han. ③ Liu Bei Hall – Gilded imperial statue + grandson Liu Chen as an attendant; a Ming Dynasty stele in front of the hall records the origin of the “joint worship of emperor and ministers”. ④ Zhuge Liang Hall – Hanging plaques inscribed “Famous Throughout the Universe” and “Jingyuan Hall”; statues of three generations of Zhuge Liang and his grandson + Zhao Fan’s “Winning Hearts and Minds Couplet”. ⑤ Sanyi Temple – Relocated by Emperor Kangxi, the only official temple dedicated to the oath of brotherhood between Liu Bei, Guan Yu, and Zhang Fei in the Peach Garden. ⑥ Huiling Red Wall – The joint tomb of Liu Bei and his two empresses; the red walls and bamboo shadows along the path are Chengdu’s most photogenic spot. The only temple in China with “joint worship of emperor and ministers”, 50 After seeing all the Tang Dynasty steles, Qing Dynasty sculptures, and Liu Bei's tomb, and then taking advantage of the "Eternal Wisdom and Virtue" special exhibition, you can head straight to Jinli for some barbecue after taking photos of the red walls and bamboo shadows in the evening. This is a quick 1.5-hour tour for Three Kingdoms fans, and a whole day for culture enthusiasts.
The location is quite convenient, with a subway station nearby. The park isn't very large, but it has a rich cultural heritage. You can experience the culture of the Three Kingdoms period. Jinli Ancient Town is also nearby, which is worth a visit. Overall, a good experience.

I watched the movie "The Mysterious Buddha" when I was a child and always wanted to see it for myself. I finally made it. I called a ride-hailing service to enter from the North Gate, but when I arrived at this so-called North Gate, it wasn't the actual North Gate of the scenic area at all. I still had to walk a long way to reach the real North Gate.
I experienced both the boat tour and the mountain climb, and each had its own unique charm. The boat tour offers a panoramic view of the Buddha, while the mountain climb allows for a closer look at the details—both were breathtaking. The only thing to note is that the steps leading down to the Buddha's feet are very steep, so it's best to wear non-slip shoes and walk slowly.

Mount Qingcheng – the fifth most secluded Taoist grotto-heaven in China, known as "Qingcheng, the most secluded place under heaven." Located 16 km southwest of Dujiangyan City, Chengdu, it is a World Natural Heritage site (part of the Sichuan Giant Panda Sanctuaries), a National 5A-level scenic area, and one of the birthplaces of the Quanzhen School of Taoism. Scenic Area Divisions: ① Front Mountain – Taoist Culture + Temples + Cable Car (90 RMB entrance fee) Representative Sites: Tianshi Cave, Shangqing Palace, Laojun Pavilion; Can be visited in half a day, suitable for first-time visitors. ② Back Mountain – Primeval Forest + Waterfalls + Cliffs (20 RMB entrance fee) Representative Sites: Wulonggou, Youyicun, Baiyun Temple; 4-6 hours of hiking, wilder scenery, extremely high negative oxygen ion levels. ③ Outer Mountain – Puzhao Temple, Panda Valley; can be combined into a single route. Mount Qingcheng incorporates "seclusion, Taoism, water, and clouds" into a 3-hour cable car loop. Enjoy tea at the ancient Tianshi Cave in the morning, climb Laojun Pavilion for snow-capped mountains at noon, and return to Chengdu for hot pot in the afternoon – truly deserving of the title "Chengdu's Backyard Garden."
Very nice! Need the whole day to really enjoy. Avoid national holidays

It's worth coming and a very spectacular view. I suggest you visit once in your life.
Driver Pang was incredibly kind and considerate, caring for passengers, distributing trash bags, and keeping motion sickness medication and other essential supplies on board in case of need. He also drove very steadily on night roads. Today was one of the worst trips of my life. We were supposed to leave Chengdu at 7:30 am, a normal four-to-five-hour drive to Siguniang Mountain around noon, and then take the 4:30 pm bus back. However, we encountered an epic, massive traffic jam. As someone from the plains, I'd never been to a mountainous area before, and I never imagined it could be this bad. Not only did we miss the 3 pm entrance to the park, but we also missed the 4:30 pm return bus. When we were only three kilometers from the attraction, but the map showed it would take over an hour, I was utterly desperate. The return driver refused to take us along the way, saying he was leaving on time and we had to rebook a later bus. We're flying out tomorrow, and with the road conditions like this, I didn't dare stay another night and miss our flight. We ended up buying tickets on the platform for the last bus at 5:30 PM. When we were still stuck in traffic a few hundred meters from the scenic area, we got off and walked to the final stop, then took a return bus directly from the entrance. We called the driver several times before finally finding him. Although he was in a hurry, he answered each time and gave us directions. We learned that he had also been stuck in traffic since 8:30 AM, which was truly admirable. Before departure, the driver checked with each passenger. Since it was the last bus of the day from Shuanggou Bridge, even those who boarded the wrong bus were helped to buy tickets and get on. Knowing it's not easy for us working people to find time for a long trip, the driver tried his best to ensure everyone could return safely. At a rest stop, a young man helped a group of young people whose car had broken down. He was a very kind and humorous man, further solidifying my image of the fun and warmth of Sichuan people. Although this trip wasn't perfect, it became a special memory. From 7 am to past 11 pm, I've been on the bus all day, just traveling back and forth, haha! The scenery in Sichuan is beautiful; the scenery along the way to Siguniang Mountain was stunning. It's a pity we didn't get to visit the scenic area. I hope the high-speed rail will be completed soon so I can take the high-speed rail next time. The people of Sichuan are also very kind. I hope drivers like Mr. Pang will be praised more often! Worthy of emulation!

Lugu Lake is beautiful. Driving from Lijiang, the road passes by the lake, but you need some driving experience, especially as the roads get more difficult closer to the lake. Even so, it's still worth the trip.
The scenery is absolutely stunning, like something out of a painting. I would definitely come back just for the view. However, the downsides are the boat and car rental options. They keep trying to scam you with all sorts of traps. I recommend coming by car!
