Visiting the Longji Rice Terraces in early November, it was drizzling. The rice was ripe, and the layers of golden rice fields, set against the backdrop of the misty rain, had a poetic beauty that made one marvel at the diligence and resilience of our Chinese ancestors.
1. Autumn deepens, the sunlight bathes the world in a warm glow, even worries seem gentler. 2. Autumn has arrived, and the air is filled with the aroma of roasted chestnuts and sweet potatoes, as warm as a familiar embrace. 3. Leaves fall gently in the autumn breeze, like letters from the past, telling tales of autumn's tenderness and tranquility. 1. Autumn is a poem, each fallen leaf a rhyming note, writing the story of time. 2. Autumn is nature's ink painting, its rich colors blending to create a serene and profound poetic atmosphere. 3. I wander through autumn's tapestry, encountering every golden hue, collecting the romance that belongs to autumn.

Based on my own experience, if you're not physically fit, you really should enter from the South Gate and exit from the East Gate. First, visit Yuelu Academy, Aiwan Pavilion, and Ancient Lushan Temple at the South Gate, then return to the South Gate sightseeing bus stop to take the sightseeing bus up the mountain. Once you reach the top, take the cable car or sightseeing bus down from the East Gate.
Yuelu Mountain feels like a must-see attraction in Changsha, and Aiwan Pavilion is a must-see view. Take a taxi to the South Gate of Yuelu Mountain, where you can see the statue of Chairman Mao; taking photos with the statue is a common activity in Changsha. This area is the campus of Hunan University, Hunan Normal University, and Central South University. You can take photos of Hunan University's Red Building. Climbing the steps leads to University Road, lined with many Hunan specialty foods. Currently, it's early November, the chrysanthemum season, and there's a small chrysanthemum exhibition inside. Further along, towards Aiwan Pavilion, you'll see many people taking photos; it's a popular spot for Instagrammers. Aiwan Pavilion is one of China's four famous pavilions, beautiful both from afar and up close. However, the maple leaves probably won't turn red until late November or early December. Just take a look and that's enough. Then, return and buy an electric cart to go up and down from the South Gate; it's mainly for viewing the scenery at the top of the mountain, lacking in entertainment value. Perhaps taking the cable car to the East Gate would offer a better panoramic view. Overall, Yuelu Mountain, as a 5A scenic area, offers free admission, which seems grand. However, smaller attractions still charge admission based on personal preference. I feel that university students in the vicinity are particularly fortunate.

A Trip to Fairy Mountain: A Healing Journey into a Real-Life "Oriental Switzerland" Having long heard of Fairy Mountain's reputation as the "Number One Pasture in Southern China," this trip truly lived up to its name! Escaping the city's sweltering heat in the height of summer, the cool 22°C here felt like natural air conditioning. The lush green forests and boundless grasslands intertwined, making every snapshot a wallpaper-worthy moment. Strolling along the wooden boardwalk, herds of cattle and sheep grazed leisurely on the meadows, the wind rippling through the meadows like waves of green, the only sounds being birdsong and the wind—even the air felt sweet and refreshing. The highlight was the horseback riding experience. Galloping across the open grasslands, feeling the wind through my hair, instantly forgot all my worries. I also checked out the popular miniature train, winding through the forest like stepping into a fairytale. In the evening, I checked into a guesthouse by the grasslands, where a sky full of stars awaited me. Dinner featured a whole roasted lamb, crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, paired with local plum juice—a truly hearty and rustic experience. The scenic area boasts comprehensive facilities and convenient transportation, offering unique enjoyment for families, couples, and friends alike. This hidden grassland paradise in Wulong, Chongqing, combines the vastness of northern grasslands with the delicate beauty of southern landscapes, making it absolutely worth visiting repeatedly. Next time, I'll definitely bring a tent to watch the sunrise and sunset on the grassland!
A gift from nature, with fresh air and few visitors, it is a relatively niche attraction. There are many restaurants waiting for the tour bus outside the gate of the scenic area, and the fat intestine fish they cook is really delicious😋

The scenery in this Dong village is quite nice, and it's well-managed with not too many people. Transportation is convenient; the village itself isn't large, and you can easily walk around. You could also visit Tang'an Dong Village and Xiage Dong Village, where the commercial atmosphere is less intense and there are fewer tourists.
It was quite interesting to stumble upon their Lusheng Festival. However, it was a little disappointing that after walking through the front garden, we turned back at the shopping street! Later we learned that the actual scenic area is inside the shopping street.

The location is excellent, making it convenient for sightseeing. It's also very quiet at night, with no noise from downstairs. There are plenty of restaurants nearby, and the staff are very friendly. Overall, a great experience!
Orange Isle is a famous scenic spot in Changsha, known for its Mao Zedong Youth Statue and the Xiangjiang River scenery. This was our first stop in Changsha, accompanying my elderly relatives. We bought night cruise tickets and a mini-train in advance through Ctrip. We took Metro Line 2 to Orange Isle, then transferred to the mini-train to take photos at the head of the isle. We arrived at the pier half an hour early to board the cruise. The entire trip took 70 minutes, and the Xiangjiang River light show was fantastic! 👍

The Old Golden Summit and the Red Cloud Golden Summit are worth climbing, although it's tiring, the scenery is quite unique. Seeing the cloud-shrouded peaks requires a bit of luck. Generally speaking, it's best to climb the Red Cloud Golden Summit early, as the path is narrow, allowing only one person at a time, and quite steep. If the person in front is too tired and needs rest, those behind can't overtake and will have to wait. Too many people can easily cause traffic jams.
I've long yearned to visit Mount Fanjing, a renowned Buddhist mountain that combines ruggedness, grandeur, beauty, and magnificence—a truly worthwhile destination. Buying tickets online is convenient; simply scan your ID card to enter. Climbing to the Old Golden Summit and the Red Cloud Golden Summit requires some stamina and physical strength. I roughly calculated that from entering the scenic area, the round trip, including shuttle buses and cable cars, took a full 5 hours, and I walked over 11,000 steps. I'm a fast walker with a long stride, so I recommend that those with less stamina or older individuals prioritize the East Route cable car.

All the ancient cities, towns, villages, and fortresses are pretty much the same. A river runs through the village, and it's very lively at night. I think the management of the scenic area is quite mature compared to others.
It's worth seeing. I recommend doing your research beforehand to avoid backtracking. Overall, it's a very good experience. Just be aware that the sightseeing bus stops running after 10:30 am.

It's worth a visit. The scenery may be beautiful in September and October. I went there in mid-May. It was just planted and not green yet. You can drive to the scenic area by yourself. You can stop and get off the car at the viewing platform. There is not much shopping. There are a few villagers living there selling some specialties, but I really can't understand their speech. The air is good, there are few people, and the experience is good! There are food and drinks in the surrounding towns, which is more convenient.
The scenic area is very large, and you can only drive up the mountain by yourself. There is no shuttle bus or anything like that. If you have time and are not afraid of being tired, you can climb up the mountain. It is recommended to go up the mountain in the morning. If you go in the afternoon, the terraces will be backlit (I went in the afternoon, and it should be good to take pictures in the morning). The scenery is really good, and it feels only suitable for taking pictures and checking in. There are no other attractions. There are homestays and farmhouses on the mountainside. The scenic area is far from the city, so you can choose to stay for one night.

This was the final leg of my Hunan trip, and the scenery was quite beautiful. The classic route was temporarily closed for road construction, so I entered from Bailongtan instead. I thought it would be easy, but after finishing, I realized I'm not young anymore. If I had known, I would have just taken a bus to Nantianmen. Although the entire hike was fraught with difficulties, my belief remained strong, and I finally reached the summit of Zhurong Peak! The biggest takeaway from this trip to Hengshan Mountain is that "as long as you persevere, you will eventually overcome yourself and achieve your dreams!" The view from the summit was absolutely breathtaking!
Mount Heng, one of the Three Mountains and Five Sacred Mountains in the south, is a must-climb. It's so beautiful, and you can even see a sea of clouds. It's tiring but joyful. There are many temples along the way, so you can visit them as you walk.

Hunan Provincial Forest Botanical Garden, as one of Changsha's representative autumn scenery spots, is worth a special trip due to its unique dawn redwood landscape and relatively niche positioning, but there are also some drawbacks to the experience. The following is an in-depth analysis from three dimensions: landscape, experience, and photography: 🌲 Core Advantages The Dawn Redwood Avenue: A Stunning Scene A 200-meter-long straight dawn redwood forest (at the North Gate entrance), whose leaves turn rust-red at the end of November, creates a "light and shadow tunnel" effect when sunlight shines through, offering a unique and breathtaking forest-like experience in Changsha. Compared to the dawn redwoods in Martyrs' Park, the trees here are taller and denser, perfect for capturing atmospheric photos with a strong sense of depth. Rich and Concentrated Autumn Colors In addition to the dawn redwoods, the Maple Avenue (red-yellow gradient), Cherry Blossom Lake (withered lotus and dawn redwood reflections), and Bamboo Garden (green bamboo contrasting with red leaves) can all be visited in one place, saving you the trouble of going to different places. Visitor density is relatively low. Compared to the crowds at Yuelu Mountain, the Botanical Garden offers near-private spaces for photography on weekdays, with weekend crowds concentrated after 10 AM. ⚠️ Drawbacks and Avoidance Guidelines The dawn red leaves of the metasequoia trees are short-lived and unstable. The best viewing period is only about two weeks (usually late November to early December). Strong winds and rain can cause premature leaf drop; it's recommended to check the official WeChat account for live updates before your visit. Facilities need upgrading. There are few and expensive restaurants within the garden (only a small shop), so it's advisable to bring your own snacks. Some path signs are unclear, making it easy to miss hidden photo spots (such as the dawn redwood forest west of Cherry Blossom Lake). Transportation is average. There is no direct subway access. After getting off at "Bantangchong Station" on Line 5, you need to walk 1.5 kilometers or transfer to a bus. Driving is preferable (the North Gate parking lot has ample parking). 📸 Photography Tips Golden time: 3-5 PM when the sunlight shines obliquely on the dawn redwood avenue, creating dappled light on the tree trunks. Hidden Spot: On the east bank of Sakura Lake stands a solitary dawn redwood tree with the lake surface and withered lotus leaves as a backdrop, perfect for portrait close-ups. Equipment Recommendation: Bring a 70-200mm telephoto lens to compress space; a wide-angle lens won't capture the density of the dawn redwood forest. 🎯 Recommended for: ✅ Photography Enthusiasts: The light and shadow effects along the Dawn Redwood Avenue yield excellent results. ✅ Families with Children: A children's playground combined with autumn foliage education makes it a great place for kids. ❌ For Lazy Visitors: Requires a long walk; there are no sightseeing buses within the park. Summary: If you're coming specifically for the dawn redwoods and have ample time, this place offers Changsha's top-tier autumn scenery. If convenience or focusing on red leaves is the priority, consider combining Yuelu Mountain and Martyrs' Park.
Visiting Tips: Check the flowering season before your trip. Flowers are still in bloom at the World Famous Flower Square in October, so dress warmly for rainy days. The mountain path has steps throughout the entire route, while the roads and trails are mostly step-free. In October, the scenic area is shaded by lush greenery, with high levels of negative oxygen ions and a fresh, clean air. Duration: 2 to 3 hours walking is recommended. Admission: Free Park parking: 10 yuan per visit
