The magical light show was truly breathtaking. From the historical evolution of Nanchang to the rise and fall of the Tengwang Pavilion, the narrative flowed seamlessly, and the actors' performances were quite good. It's definitely worth seeing.
I managed to get into the park in the last four minutes before closing time. I initially thought they wouldn't let us in, but the staff told us we had a few minutes left and to hurry! Haha, thankfully I didn't give up and made it. There weren't too many people in the evening, but the weather wasn't great; it rained the whole time. However, it didn't affect the visit to Tengwang Pavilion. The pavilion is magnificent and well worth the trip. The view of Nanchang at night from the pavilion is truly beautiful. I've always felt that a trip to Nanchang isn't complete without climbing Tengwang Pavilion. My first trip to Nanchang was to see the National Day flag-raising ceremony, and this is my second time here. It would be a shame not to climb Tengwang Pavilion again. This trip finally fulfilled my wish.

A guided tour is definitely worthwhile at museums. The Hunan Provincial Museum is currently under renovation, and it's crowded and small. Without a guided tour, I probably would have been out in 20 minutes. Our guide, Xiao Zhou, gave a lively and engaging explanation. Very good.
I must commend Xiao Xiao, the museum guide! Her explanations were professional and engaging throughout, clearly and thoroughly explaining the historical origins and cultural details behind the exhibits. She also incorporated fun anecdotes to keep things interesting, and her pacing was excellent, captivating both adults and children. She was enthusiastic and patient, answering all our questions meticulously and even sharing photos, making the visit both educational and incredibly pleasant. With Xiao Xiao as our guide, the museum experience was doubled! Highly recommended!

A large park around the river. In addition to enjoying the breeze by the river, you can also see the large statue of Mao Zedong! It's a long way to get in from the subway, and the round trip bus cost 40 yuan, which is not cost-effective! I can only say that if you have nothing to do and have time, it's okay to take a walk if you like to exercise.
The night view is stunning. The light show makes it look bustling and prosperous. We took the train. It wasn't crowded. Most people went to see the giant statue of Chairman Mao. We enjoyed the breeze from the Xiang River. The view was also expansive. It's a shame our stay was short. We didn't get to see every scene in detail.

I visited Lushan with my family during the last few days of the National Day holiday. The scenery was beautiful and left a deep impression. I especially want to thank the security guard at the Lushan Museum. We arrived very late, but he still let us in because he didn't want me to have any regrets. I'm so grateful!
Comment 1: A Zen-like Pursuit of a Pure Land In the hustle and bustle of the world, the Donglin Buddha of Lushan stands as a tranquil haven, its majestic presence guarding the purity of faith. The rising of three sticks of incense is not merely a ritual, but a profound question for the soul—as the smoke swirls, have we forgotten the essence of faith? Here, there is no extravagance or utilitarianism, only the whisper of the mountain breeze, as if reminding us: true faith originates from inner clarity, not from the accumulation of external things. Strolling here, every step echoes the past, every glance reveals nature's bounty. To let faith return to its essence is to allow the soul to regain freedom in this pure land, like a lotus rising from the mud unsullied, preserving its true nature amidst chaos. Comment 2: Faith Awakening in Incense The Donglin Buddha of Lushan is an oasis in the midst of noise, a place where weary souls can find rest. Three sticks of incense, seemingly simple, carry a thousand years of devotion—they do not seek worldly rewards, but only wish to awaken inner peace. As incense smoke fills the air, the essence of faith gradually becomes clear: it is not blind superstition, but a profound pursuit of the meaning of life. The beauty of the Pure Land lies in its inclusiveness and purification, allowing restless hearts to settle, like the distant and clear tolling of an ancient temple bell. Here, faith is no longer an empty slogan, but is transformed into the land beneath our feet and the blue sky above, reminding us: returning to the essence is returning to the true nature of humanity. Commentary 3: Harmonious Coexistence of Nature and Faith The Donglin Buddha of Lushan, with nature as its backdrop, embodies the eternal theme of faith. A Pure Land is a gift from the mountains, a murmur of the streams; three sticks of incense are a dialogue of the soul, a continuation of tradition. When faith merges with nature, we understand: true faith needs no flowery words, only a heart of reverence. In the Pure Land, every fallen leaf is a Zen saying, every ray of sunlight an enlightenment. Letting faith return to its essence is to let humanity coexist harmoniously with nature, to rediscover the original purity in the incense smoke, like spring buds breaking through the soil, ever-renewing.

There was practically no service to speak of. The two uncles checking tickets and guarding the gate knew everyone was a tourist, yet they insisted on serving in their local dialect (I needed assistance with my ID card error at the entrance). The night view was more beautiful than the daytime view, and the entrance was full of young women taking photos. This building was a later construction, not a reconstruction on the original site, but the animation and story film designs were quite good; I bought some fridge magnets.
Upstairs, there's a video of Du Fu's poem "Meeting Li Guinian Again in Jiangnan," which brought me to tears. "Often seen at Prince Qi's residence, heard many times before Cui Jiu's hall. It is indeed a beautiful scene in Jiangnan, meeting you again in the season of falling flowers." Ultimately, he died far from home, never returning to his native soil. Du Fu, a poet saint for all time, dedicated his life to his country and its people!

The scenic area was restored in 1983. From Yueyang Tower, you can see Dongting Lake. A visit takes about two hours. Outside the south gate, there's a commercial street where you can stroll around and then walk to the Houyi Shooting Eight Demons exhibit.
Yueyang Tower, one of the three famous towers south of the Yangtze River, stands on the shore of Dongting Lake. Leaning on its railing, one can see the vast expanse of Dongting Lake stretching for miles, its waters and sky blending seamlessly into the autumn sky. The tower's upturned eaves reflect the flowing clouds and soaring birds, seemingly still echoing Fan Zhongyan's timeless words, "Be the first to worry about the world's troubles, and the last to enjoy its pleasures."

I stayed there nine days ago. It was a great experience. The room was quiet and peaceful. The room was very comfortable, and we even had a barbecue. The landlady was very welcoming and prepared all the ingredients for us. The barbecue was a lot of fun. The room was clean and cozy. Overall, a very positive experience. I would definitely go again.
Definitely worth a visit! It's very helpful for understanding the history of the Han Dynasty. Most Han Dynasty tombs are empty, but Liu He's tomb is remarkably well-preserved for various reasons, almost entirely untouched by looting. Unlike other museums where the exhibits are severely damaged and pieced together, the tomb's artifacts are much more impressive. There's a bus ride from the museum to Liu He's tomb. When I went to wait, there were about 200 people, but they quickly arranged for large minibuses, easing the congestion immediately. Thumbs up! A very pleasant visit.

I recommend going in the morning, because if you go in the afternoon, you'll only get a portion of the hike before it gets dark. There's not even enough time to see the glass walkway. If you're bringing kids, it's basically just a quick visit. But if you enjoy hiking, you absolutely must go! It's even better if it's sunny. Otherwise, it's not worth the price.
Gaoyiling Scenic Area is not far from the city center, boasts beautiful scenery, and has complete supporting tourist facilities, making it a great place for taking photos. A certain level of physical fitness is required to visit, but it's not too difficult. It's important to note that when it's crowded, try not to park near the South Gate, as there's only one road in and out, and traffic congestion is severe.

The hiking trails are closed, and hikers can only take the Bailongtan road, which is a poor experience. The buses down the mountain only run until 5:30 PM. After that, you can only take private cars that are soliciting passengers on the roadside to get down the mountain.
The shuttle bus going up the mountain was going way too fast. The mountain road was winding and twisting, and very few people made it to the last stop to get off, so there wasn't even time to properly appreciate the scenery.

Yuelu Mountain feels like a must-see attraction in Changsha, and Aiwan Pavilion is a must-see view. Take a taxi to the South Gate of Yuelu Mountain, where you can see the statue of Chairman Mao; taking photos with the statue is a common activity in Changsha. This area is the campus of Hunan University, Hunan Normal University, and Central South University. You can take photos of Hunan University's Red Building. Climbing the steps leads to University Road, lined with many Hunan specialty foods. Currently, it's early November, the chrysanthemum season, and there's a small chrysanthemum exhibition inside. Further along, towards Aiwan Pavilion, you'll see many people taking photos; it's a popular spot for Instagrammers. Aiwan Pavilion is one of China's four famous pavilions, beautiful both from afar and up close. However, the maple leaves probably won't turn red until late November or early December. Just take a look and that's enough. Then, return and buy an electric cart to go up and down from the South Gate; it's mainly for viewing the scenery at the top of the mountain, lacking in entertainment value. Perhaps taking the cable car to the East Gate would offer a better panoramic view. Overall, Yuelu Mountain, as a 5A scenic area, offers free admission, which seems grand. However, smaller attractions still charge admission based on personal preference. I feel that university students in the vicinity are particularly fortunate.
I think if you're traveling to Changsha, you can visit Yuelu Mountain. However, I don't think it's necessary to visit Yuelu Academy. Yuelu Mountain is free, but Yuelu Academy charges an entrance fee, and for that price, I don't think there's much to see inside.
