Xinjiang's World Devil City is a hidden gem hailed by *Chinese National Geography* as "China's most beautiful Yardang landform." This typical Yardang landform area, a 260-square-kilometer wind-eroded labyrinth, features thousands of uniquely shaped mounds resembling castles, palaces, towers, and giant beasts. Among them, the Broken Bridge Valley boasts a natural stone bridge spanning the canyon. Standing on the viewing platform, one can overlook the Yardang formations stretching for tens of kilometers, the layered mounds resembling magnificent ocean waves.
The World Devil City is a national 5A-level scenic area located in Urho District, Karamay City, Xinjiang. Covering an area of 260 square kilometers, it is a typical Yardang landform area. Wind and water erosion have sculpted diverse landforms resembling castles and animals. It gets its name from the terrifying howling sound produced by strong winds passing through it. It has also served as a filming location for several movies, including *Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon* and *Hero*.

This scenic area is a bit small, and I finished it in less than an hour, but it was quite interesting to see the various structures of the Karez. Parking is very convenient, with a large parking lot at the entrance. It is also located in Turpan City, making it easy to drive.
The reservation was quite rushed, and later I found out that there are three scenic spots in Karez, Folk Custom Park, Jiaoheyi and Karez Paradise. The Folk Custom Park is closer to the city, and there is an old man's shop at the door that you can visit together. Jiaoheyi and the paradise are together, a little farther from the city, but it is said that Jiaoheyi can go down 60 meters underground for a better experience, but the Folk Custom Park is bigger.

The second self-driving tour in Xinjiang, which lasted nearly a month, started in June 2024. At the end of the trip, we came to Bosten Lake, the largest freshwater lake in Xinjiang. If Sayram Lake is fascinating with its snow-capped mountains, Bosten Lake is known for its vastness. The entire lake area is divided into several scenic spots that need to be visited separately. The Bailuzhou scenic spot was closed and could not be visited. I went to Lianhai World first, and then to Dahekou Scenic Area.

This scenic spot combines science and fun. It's not large, but the scenery is beautiful, especially the section from the museum down to the culvert. The whole area is full of exotic atmosphere. The grape corridor is full of various grapes, and the water at the outlet is icy cold, perfect for summer heat relief.
The karez is worth a visit, showing how human wisdom has reached its peak in solving the problem of survival. Nothing is impossible, only unimaginable. The working people have also shed blood and sweat, marveling at the miracle and paying tribute to life!

Located in the center of Urumqi, Hongshan Park is a free attraction, and it is also a must-play attraction in Urumqi. After entering the park through security check, go straight all the way up, pass the Big Buddha Temple, and overlook the building (you need to pay ten yuan per person to climb the building) to reach the iconic building Hongshan Tower. Across the Red Mountain Tower, you can see the whole picture of the city center of Urumqi.

The Kanerjing source in Jiaoheyi is super interesting! You can see the source of the ancient underground water conservancy project with your own eyes. It's like an adventure to drill a tunnel. It's so cool in the summer that you don't want to come out! There are also post station ruins and grape trellises in the scenic area. It's just right to play for 1 hour. It's niche but worth checking in!
The first stop when we arrived at Turpan, people around us said they wanted to come here once to see the well source. After going down, it was very cool and comfortable. Turpan itself is hot, so it is still very good to visit this place, and the price is not expensive.
