Zheng He's seven voyages to the West
The first time: July 11, 1405 (June 15, the third year of Yongle, Yiyou) Zheng He was 34 years old. He was ordered by Emperor Chengzu to lead more than 27,800 soldiers and soldiers with Wang Jinghong to Champa, Java, Old Port, Sumatra, Malacca, Calicut, Ceylon and other countries.
The second time: October 13, 1407 (September 13, the fifth year of Yongle, Dinghai) Zheng He was 36 years old and led a fleet to Champa, Java, Siam, Sumatra, Calicut, Ceylon and other countries. This time, the mission was probably to send those foreign envoys back to their countries and make a second visit.
The third time: In October 1409 (September of the seventh year of Yongle, Jichou), Zheng He was 38 years old. He led more than 27,000 soldiers to Champa, Java, Malacca, Sumatra, Ceylon, Kochi, and Calicut. In Malacca, Zheng He obtained the consent of the local king Parameswara and built a fenced city wall with four gates and drum towers; inside, he built a small city with heavy fences and built warehouses as an intermediate transit station.
The fourth time: In November 1413 (the eleventh year of Yongle, Guiji), Zheng He was 42 years old. He and Ma Huan arrived in Champa, Java, Sumatra, Ceylon, Cochin, Calicut, Hormuz and other fifteen or sixteen countries. Zheng He crossed the west of India and reached the Persian Gulf.
The fifth time: May 1417 (the 15th year of Yongle, Dingyou) Zheng He was 46 years old. He arrived in Java, Guli, Hormuz and Aden with Wang Jinghong and others. He also reached places along the east coast of Africa, such as Mugudusu and Bulawa. This time he went to the farthest place. Zheng He also brought back rare animals such as lions, leopards, and giraffes.
The sixth time: In the spring of 1421 (the 19th year of Yongle, Xinchou) Zheng He was 50 years old. He led a fleet with Wang Jinghong, Ma Huan and others to Bengal, Guli, Aden, Mugudusu, Bulawa and other countries. This trip was mainly to send envoys from various countries back to their countries.
The seventh time: January 1431 (the 6th year of Xuande, Xinhai) Zheng He was 60 years old. He led the entire fleet, including officers, flag soldiers, fire chiefs, helmsmen, interpreters, and clerks, totaling 27,550 people. He reached 17 countries including Champa, Java, Old Port, Malacca, Sumatra, Ceylon, Calicut, and Hormuz. Zheng He died in Calicut in 1433 (the eighth year of Xuande) on the way.
From 1405 to 1433, the eunuch Zheng He (1371-1433) sailed to the West seven times, six of which stopped in Malacca. Zheng He's voyages to the West can be regarded as a feat in the history of world navigation, which strengthened the friendly exchanges between the Ming Dynasty and Asian and African countries.
