It is a top-level intangible cultural heritage that is well worth visiting. The typical naturally formed karst landform is strange and mysterious, especially Jianfeng Pool (take a walk on the plank road, the rocks are rugged and mysterious) and Youlan Valley (the malachite and turtle stone are very realistic). Maybe the tour guide will not take you there, but that is the essence.
The Stone Forest Scenic Area is very spectacular. Although it is all stone, the stones in the Stone Forest are very majestic. I originally went there because I took my mother to see Ashima, the top star of their era, but it is worth it to go there by myself. And there is no entrance fee for people over 70 years old.

Dianchi Lake, the birthplace of the ancient Dian Kingdom, has been a vibrant cultural hub for thousands of years and boasts a rich history. Nestled alongside the Xishan Mountains, Dianchi Lake boasts abundant natural resources and breathtaking scenery. The surrounding Daguan Park (Daguan Tower), Haigeng Park, Xishan Scenic Area (Longmen), and numerous wetland parks offer excellent recreational opportunities. However, the entire Dianchi Lake is surrounded by a circuit, making it difficult to reach the lake's edge for scenic views.
It would have been quite convenient to walk from Gantong to Xima Cao and then pay the 50 yuan per person difference to take the cable car down the mountain, but now you have to climb 1,200 steps to get to Xima Cao, which is a bummer. They are currently building another staircase or elevator nearby, so it may be improved in the future.

Tiger Leaping Gorge is divided into three sections: Upper, Middle, and Lower. Upper Tiger Leaping is suitable for children, while Middle Tiger Leaping is suitable for hiking. Lower Tiger Leaping seems to be closed to traffic yet. Tiger Leaping Gorge itself is not high in elevation, but it does have a drop of 3,900 meters. This difference in height is based on the difference in height between the gorge and the snow-capped mountains, so the actual climb isn't that great.
On the day I arrived at Tiger Leaping Gorge, the parking lot was full, so the staff directed me to park on the roadside hillside. I had forgotten to buy a student ticket when booking online, but when I brought my ID to pick up the ticket, the staff noticed and reminded me. While the difference in price was small, the service was excellent. You also need to buy a 5 yuan parking ticket.
From the visitor center, transfer to a bus to enter the gorge. You can get down to the gorge from the bus stop. You can either take the escalator or climb down. The same applies to climbing back up. I recommend walking down and then taking the elevator. There are several platforms on the way down to view the scenery, so the walk isn't tiring.
The walk down the mountain to the riverside, taking in the scenery and taking photos, took only 30 minutes. A platform about 300 meters along the river's edge is located. During the rainy season, the water level can be quite high, and the river suddenly narrows at Tiger Leaping Rock, making the current particularly turbulent. The elevator entrance is at the other end of the platform. It takes about 10 minutes to get back to the station, where we can take the bus back to the visitor center, completing our Tiger Leaping Gorge tour.
We had originally planned to visit the Lashihai Wetland Park on our way back and then see the Lijiang Eternal Love Show that evening. However, we got lazy again and decided to head back to the hotel to rest up and then go directly to the show that evening. So, we set off around 9:30 AM and returned to the hotel at 3:30 PM to rest up.
The entrance fee is relatively expensive, but it is quite impressive. The total playing time is about 2 hours, not too long. The mountain roads are all salty, and the scenery along the way is also very beautiful. I went there in spring and the water flow was not very large.

It's worth a visit. The various ethnic performances were very exciting. It was just raining when I went there, so many programs were cancelled. The travel photography was terrible. It was the worst travel photography I've ever had in so many places. I just followed the photos near a scenic spot. The experience was poor, and the photos were not good at all. I paid for it and that was it. It really hurt the score of the scenic spot.
I bought the night show and entered the park at 5:30 pm. The battery-powered bicycles were all off duty. A few villages were open, but it was a bit deserted and the show was a bit boring. It might be because there were too few people. The scenery is beautiful and suitable for taking pictures and checking in. I don't recommend it if you want to learn about ethnic minorities. It takes a long time to walk out of the commercial area...

The scenery is really beautiful, but there are too many people queuing for the cable car during the peak tourist season. The one-way trip takes about 10 minutes. You can also see the beautiful scenery of Erhai Lake from a high point.

This was my second time staying at the Shilok Hotel this year. The first time was recommended by a friend, and this time I recommended it to my friend. From Luolong Cow Farm to the Milk Lake, and then to the Five-Colored Lake at 4,700 meters above sea level, every step of the 10-kilometer hike was accompanied by a gasp for air. But when the blue of the Milk Lake caught my eyes, and the wind from the snowy mountains, wrapped in prayer flags, swept past my ears—all the breathlessness, the weak legs, and the anxiety were all worth it.
It turns out the best scenery really is only seen by standing on tiptoe.
