Weizhou Island, located in Beihai, Guangxi, boasts the Nanwan Crocodile Mountain, a national 5A-level scenic area. Facing Beihai Silver Beach, Weizhou Island covers approximately 25 square kilometers and has a 36-kilometer coastline. It is the largest island in Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region and China's largest and youngest volcanic island. In recent years, tourism to Weizhou Island has become increasingly popular. However, opinions on the island are mixed. Many believe that not visiting Weizhou Island will be a regret, and even visiting will lead to regret. In my opinion, Weizhou Island is worth visiting. However, it's essential to do your research beforehand. I've summarized five things to keep in mind before your trip. Although Weizhou Island isn't large, with a coastline of only 36 kilometers, it boasts a considerable number of scenic spots, mainly concentrated on the east, west, and south coasts. The west coast features attractions like Dripstone Screen, Crocodile Mountain Park, and Shiluokou Beach, excellent spots for watching the sunset over the sea. The east coast includes Wucai Beach, the East Coast Scenic Area, and the Catholic Church, offering the best vantage point for watching the sunrise. Nanwan Town is the island's most important commercial center, home to seafood markets, supermarkets, restaurants, and a vibrant nightlife with bars. The north coast features Shell Beach and the Wetland Park, less crowded with tourists. If you're interested in water sports, I personally recommend sailing; for around 100 RMB, you can take a spin, and the sunset views are particularly stunning.
The price/performance ratio is not high. I spent a lot of money on the tickets and boat tickets, as well as the accommodation and seafood. The fresh seafood is much more expensive than that in Beihai. It's just that you can ride an electric bike around on the island, which is quite interesting. The island is not big and you can go around in a circle in 40 minutes. I like it very much with my children. I went to the sea but it was lonely. I found a very good accommodation. The seafood processing is also done by the owner of the B&B. I didn't make any mistakes. It's okay.

There's a reason why tourist attractions become tourist attractions. I recommend Chongzuo Detian Waterfall and Dongnayu Bay. The combined ticket is quite cost-effective and valid for two days. Remember to exchange the combined ticket for a paper boat ticket after visiting Dongnayu Bay. Also, I think the food at Detian Waterfall Scenic Area is better than restaurants near the scenic area; the prices are reasonable and the food is really good. I had a baguette sandwich (basically a baguette with meat filling) at the Sino-Vietnamese Style Street, which was surprisingly delicious. At the Sino-Vietnamese Cross-Border Street, at the restaurant at the top, I ordered Vietnamese pho and chicken, which were also really good. It had a proper kitchen, and the food had a nice wok hei (wok aroma). 👍 The "Tusi Yuping" food stall at Dongnayu Bay has many snacks; the cold noodles and cold skin noodles are quite good. I especially recommend the brown sugar ginger water, which is great for warming up and dispelling dampness after hiking. I bought several kilograms of brown sugar there; it's 15 yuan per kilogram. Families from Beihai, Guangxi, who were traveling with me also bought a lot as souvenirs; it was indeed very authentic. 👍
I chose to go during winter break, a season that locals ridiculed, so the low water level was to be expected. However, it's still worth seeing when the upstream releases water. The management and traffic at the scenic area were somewhat unsatisfactory; if you don't arrive very early, you could easily spend several hours in the parking lot, so be sure to go early to avoid peak hours.

Libo Xiaoqikong Scenic Area is a highly recommended tourist attraction. As a national 5A-level scenic area and a World Natural Heritage site, it features karst landforms and integrates mountains, water, forests, caves, lakes, and waterfalls, earning it the reputation of "the emerald on the Earth's belt." The overall experience is serene, dynamic, and richly layered, suitable for photography, hiking, and family water activities. The highlights of the scenic area are concentrated along the Xiangshui River: the ancient Xiaoqikong Bridge built in 1835; the cascading Laya Waterfall; 68 waterfalls densely distributed along a 1.6-kilometer stretch of the river; the emerald-green Wolongtan (Sleeping Dragon Pool); the Yuanyang Lake, accessible by boat; and the "water forest" where "water flows through the forest." From October to December each year, the red spider lilies bloom extensively in the valley, adding a seasonal romance. The entire area offers a constantly changing landscape, with the water's color displaying multi-layered blue-green gradations depending on the light and water volume, making for excellent photo opportunities. The park is open from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM. Adult tickets are typically NT$120 (excluding the sightseeing bus), which must be purchased separately (subject to daily announcements). High visitor volume is expected during holidays; it's advisable to avoid peak times. The best season is from June to October (high water season), when the waterfalls and water colors are at their peak, ideal for water activities and photography. Autumn and winter offer beautiful views, but the water volume and color are less vibrant. It is recommended to wear non-slip river shoes, bring spare clothing, and sun/rain gear. Seniors and families can utilize the park's transportation system for a more relaxed pace. Restaurants within the park are scattered and relatively expensive; it's recommended to bring snacks and water to sustain you through long walks and water activities.
Libo Xiaoqikong Scenic Area is a well-known and beautiful scenic spot in Guizhou. It features the ancient and elegant Xiaoqikong Bridge, with water flowing gently through its arches, creating a graceful scene perfect for photos. Yuanyang Lake has shimmering green water and is suitable for boating, but it was closed due to recent rain. The Stone Forest offers a great hiking experience, passing 68 cascading waterfalls to reach Cuigu Waterfall, where children can play in the water. The scenery is also quite nice.

Many places in Guangxi were not well-known before, but nature has never shortchanged this beautiful land. Tongling Grand Canyon is like a paradise on earth; its mystery can only be truly appreciated in person. Overall, it's quite pristine, and there's room for improvement in its services.
Tongling Grand Canyon, located in Guangxi, boasts lush vegetation and a landscape distinctly different from that of East China, offering a generally pleasant experience. The canyon's warm climate makes for a comfortable visit. There are numerous vendors selling snacks within the scenic area. Passion fruit juice is freshly squeezed and tastes quite good, and there are also freshly peeled papayas, among other things. Bargaining is possible for these items, so it's advisable to try. However, I don't recommend buying the corn sold by the elderly woman, as it doesn't taste good. I purchased my ticket directly through Ctrip. The process was simple and unremarkable. The ticket price was 99 yuan, which I personally felt was only average value, slightly expensive. A price reduction would have been more reasonable.

Silver Cave is a massive karst cave filled with stalactites and stalagmites formed over millions of years by calcium carbonate deposition. Its grand scale and spectacular appearance are truly breathtaking. Nature's artistry, combined with various lighting effects, creates bizarre and fantastical formations, resembling mythical creatures from legends. Some are incredibly lifelike, while others require a bit of imagination—the more you think about it, the more real it becomes. It's definitely worth a visit. A full tour of the cave takes about an hour. The cave is uneven, dimly lit, and slippery, so extra care should be taken with elderly people and children. Free audio guides are available at the scenic area. Parking is readily available at the entrance.
Ruyi Peak is a truly worthwhile attraction. Visitors can ascend and descend the mountain by cable car. While the route is steep and steep, the stable cabs offer a thrilling experience, allowing you to experience the thrill of climbing over mountains and ridges. After ascending, hike to the highest point, Yunding, where you can admire the Yangshuo mountain scenery from different angles. Each step offers a new view, and the mountain scenery unfolds before your eyes like a vast ink painting of the vast landscape. Only from here can you overlook the magnificent and beautiful Yangshuo mountain landscape. Along the way, you'll cross a cable bridge between two peaks and a glass-walled plank walkway perched on the cliff face, offering a thrilling experience. The entire scenic area is clean and tidy, with gentle steps and easy access. There are small platforms along the way for resting and stopping, allowing for a leisurely 2-3 hours. The entire trek is comfortable and easy, suitable for both young and old. Yinziyan Cave, a massive cave, is filled with stalactites and stalagmites formed over millions of years by calcium carbonate deposits. The vast scale of the cave is a true masterpiece of nature, and with the help of various lighting, it creates a myriad of strange and bizarre scenes, reminiscent of mythical beasts and legends. It's a truly worthwhile experience. The whole journey in the cave takes 1 hour. The cave is up and down, dark and slippery, so special care is needed when traveling with the elderly and children.

To be honest, the scenery at Mingshi Pastoral Park is just average. I wouldn't recommend it to tourists from outside Guangxi Province. It's a long trip, so it's better to go to Yangshuo and take a bamboo raft to enjoy the Guilin landscape. This combined ticket only covers two-thirds of the bamboo raft trip (I feel ripped off; this wasn't mentioned in the online ticket information). A single ticket for the scenic area covers the entire trip. Once you disembark, it's just a small park, and that's it—you're out of the scenic area. Note: The auntie singing folk songs on the shore was genuine and her singing was beautiful; the boatman was simple and honest; the young lady on the bamboo raft was beautiful, kind, and provided excellent service. She even sang us folk songs by Liu Sanjie—her voice was sweet and melodious; kudos to them! Thank you! Detian Waterfall is spectacular and breathtaking; highly recommended! The scenic area isn't large, but the route is well-designed, with multiple viewing and photo opportunities along the way back. I suggest taking a bamboo raft to see the waterfall up close; I think the price is reasonable.
The scenery is amazing. It was very pleasant to take a bamboo raft tour on the Mingshi River. The tour guide was very enthusiastic and sang for us. The countryside and the fish scale dam were also very healing. We watched another performance on the way back.

During my visit to Dongnayu Bay, it rained heavily, so we got soaked on the boat (I recommend bringing a raincoat in case of rain). The scenery on both sides wasn't very clear, but the guide on the boat provided excellent commentary, which deserves a thumbs up! 👍
The sea of flowers is truly stunning. Paired with the distant karst landscape and the blue sky and white clouds, it's a truly photogenic sight. It's definitely worth a visit. The only downside is that the boat ride after the heavy rain wasn't as enjoyable as it used to be.

As soon as I stepped onto Beihai Silver Beach, the frosted-white sand captivated me. The sand was as fine as salt, warm and sweet, and felt as soft as cotton. The waves, swirling with snow-white foam, rolled in, and I couldn't wait to step into the water. The waves crashed against me, then quickly receded, as if the sea were whispering softly. Running along the waves, riding a beach scooter, the breeze whipping my hair back, my heart filled with a sense of soaring freedom. In the afternoon, I searched the beach for tiny crabs; they were so agile that they could disappear into their holes without warning. As the sun set, the beach shimmered, like a dazzling work of art. Beihai Silver Beach is truly a place you won't want to leave.
Beihai trip, a date with the sea Recently I just came back from a trip to Beihai, I can't wait to share this unforgettable experience with you. Silver Beach is really amazing, worthy of the reputation of "the first beach in the world". The sand is as delicate as flour, stepping on it barefoot, and the soft touch comes from the soles of the feet, which is extremely pleasant. In the evening, the sunset is spilled on the beach, and the whole world is dyed warm orange, and the atmosphere is a blockbuster. Here, you can enjoy the sun beach and waves, relaxing. Qiaogang style street is full of fireworks, is a paradise for food lovers. As soon as you enter here, the aroma of various foods will come out. Vietnam rolls, crab noodles, roasted oysters...everything is mouth-watering. At night, the Qiaogang style street, neon lights flashing, lively, while eating food, while feeling this lively atmosphere, happiness is bursting. Weizhou Island is a highlight of the trip to the North Sea. As the largest dead volcano island in China, the island's scenery and unique volcanic geological landscape are amazing. The volcanic rocks in the Crocodile Mountain Volcano Park are strange and strange, as if they are carefully carved artworks by nature. The sea erosion landform of the dripping Danping is beautiful, and at sunset, the embers spill on the sea, sparkling, and beautiful. Beihai Old Street is full of historical charm, built in 1883, the street is a unique Chinese and Western combination of riding buildings, strolling in it, as if crossing back to the past, can feel the prosperity of Beihai once. Today, it is also a lively commercial street where you can enjoy the old buildings, taste local cuisine and buy special souvenirs. However, the North Sea has some minor drawbacks. For example, some attractions are more commercialized, like Qiaogang Style Street, although there are many foods, but some net red shops are not cost-effective. There is also the climate of the North Sea. The summer is long and hot. It belongs to the kind of hot and sultry. It is easy to sticky on the body. It is occasionally cold in winter, and there is no heating. The room is wet and cold. In addition, there are relatively many mosquitoes in the North Sea. You must take anti-mosquito measures to play. Overall, Beihai is a very worthwhile tourist attraction. There are beautiful sea views, rich cuisine and unique human landscape. If you also like the sea, yearning for a leisurely seaside life, then the North Sea will not let you down, pack your bags, come to a romantic encounter with the North Sea!

Gulongshan Grand Canyon is all about rafting. There's the classic rafting with a guide, and the free-style rafting where you paddle yourself, which is more strenuous. It's not very thrilling; with a raincoat and shoe covers, you'll barely get wet. There's a mountain path to and from the rafting area; the way there are stone steps, and the way back is a wooden boardwalk. Those with mobility issues should be cautious.
The scenic spot was affected by the previous flood and was a bit messy. The ferry was indeed as described by netizens. It was tiring and the road conditions were not very good, but the rafting was really great and the experience was good. The paddling master was professional and enthusiastic. 👍🏻👍🏻
