We visited Ortiga as part of a day trip from Taormina. We had a short stop at this place. You definitely need a guide or you will miss the highlights. I would like to stay there for a few days to see everything. Might do so in the future. A day trip is a long day.
Ortigia is a great place to slow down and experience the life of the locals, stroll through the streets and alleys of the old city, walk through the cobblestone roads, look at the buildings, look at the Zendekuang, and visit the shops. If you are tired, you can find a restaurant or cafe to take a rest. It is very nice.

Syracuse, founded in 743 BC, is the filming location of The Beautiful Legend of Sicily. The Byzantine-style Syracuse Cathedral is a place where movie stars have walked calmly countless times. The square is crowded with people, and the melodious melody of the accordion seems to tell the rich and glorious history of Syracuse. I like the bright sunshine and humanistic feelings of Sicily.
This church was built on the foundations of an even older building. In one of the buildings, you can see ancient Greek, Byzantine, Norman, Renaissance, and modern architecture side by side. You can easily see these features from the outside, or you can pay a nominal fee to look inside.

In the middle of May, Noto celebrates the marvels of spring and the coming summer with a colourful festa known as the Infiorata. Via Nicolaci becomes home to flower artists from all over the world who create a carpet of beautiful petal mosaics inspired by the year's theme.Part of a UNESCO Heritage Site, Noto is not to be missed, even if Baroque architecture is not your cup of tea. More than just a baroque town, it is a subliminal expression of originality, fantasy, obsession, and man’s resilience in the face of the overwhelming force of nature. The cathedral of Noto is the principal baroque monuments in the town of Noto, in south-east Sicily. The town is known as the capital of Sicilian baroque architecture, and the cathedral facade is the principal example of the style in the town.
We didn't have a place to stay in Noto. We arrived there at noon, then parked the car and walked around the town. The main street in the center of the town, dominated by the Noto Cathedral, is very impressive, especially the spacious steps in front of the church, where tourists like to sit. Opposite the cathedral is the town hall. These Baroque-style buildings look magnificent and visually appealing. The Noto Cathedral was once severely damaged by an earthquake, but the entire town was actually rebuilt, so it feels particularly gorgeous and stylish.
