Jinci Temple is huge, the ginkgo trees are beautiful, the painted sculptures are beautiful, everything is great except for the sheer number of tourists... It's unbelievable! Crowds of people fill the space, making it difficult to even turn around. Such noise is quite common. Leaving Jinci Temple, I suddenly felt refreshed, a sense of liberation. 😢😢😢
Jinci Museum is located at the foot of Xuanweng Mountain, 25 kilometers southwest of Taiyuan City, Shanxi Province, at the source of the Jin River. It is a national key cultural relics protection unit and a national 4A-level tourist attraction. Jinci is world-renowned for its ancient architecture, sculptures, famous springs, and ancient trees. The temple grounds are beautiful, with magnificent buildings and numerous halls, pavilions, towers, terraces, bridges, and waterside pavilions dotting the landscape. The ancient trees are lush and the scenery is picturesque.

Because the "Demi-Gods and Semi-Devils" program included a special itinerary at Yanmen Pass, even during the winter holidays, it wasn't too crowded. It's a magnificent pass, definitely worth a visit. Climb the mountain and experience the feeling of iron horses and golden spears.
Yanmen Pass, the first pass of China. This trip with my parents was a bit cold, the temperature dropped suddenly, but thankfully I brought down jackets! You really need to bring some warm clothes when visiting Shanxi in November, otherwise you really can't stand it!

Early winter was the perfect time to visit; the temperature was just right, and there wasn't an unbearable temperature difference between indoors and outdoors. I was very satisfied! The orchids were fantastic, and the cacti were large and adorable. I loved them.
Taiyuan Botanical Garden has become a newly popular tourist attraction, largely thanks to its starry sky-top elevator observation deck. The three hemispherical tropical museums opposite, reflected in the water, resemble an alien base. Now that it's winter and the off-season, the crowds are concentrated here! You could easily spend a whole day here in the summer. There are electric shuttle buses and small electric cars available for rent, so it's not tiring for the elderly or children!

Baoquan Tourist Area is a hidden gem. It's not very famous, but the scenery is absolutely stunning. It's suitable not only for young people looking for thrills but also for middle-aged and elderly people looking to enjoy the sights. It's a perfect attraction.
Buying a ticket to Cliff World also grants access to the Grand Canyon, making the ticket well worth it. There are many attractions inside, allowing you to explore at your own pace. The scenery is beautiful, and the staff are incredibly welcoming, greeting you along the way. I visited in winter, and each season offers a different kind of beauty. Highly recommended!

A combined ticket includes free shuttle bus rides to three locations; otherwise, you'll need to find your way there yourself or purchase a separate shuttle bus ticket. The museum and palace/temple ruins are relatively convenient, but the royal tombs are a bit far. The museum is open until 8 PM, and you can also buy evening tickets; it's less crowded and the experience is excellent. Bus route 11 is right outside, providing direct access to the high-speed rail, which is super convenient.
(The old Yinxu Museum, which I had visited before, was a revisit.)
The new Yinxu Museum, located on the banks of the Huan River in Anyang City, Henan Province, faces the Yinxu Palace and Temple Ruins across the river. It covers an area of 51,000 square meters.
The new museum focuses on the theme of "The Great Shang Civilization."

The Huangcheng Xiangfu has a performance called "Weeping Time". The mansion is quite large and impressive, with exquisite architecture and well-organized rooms. However, the ticket center is located far from the attraction, which is to cater to the business of the tourist attractions!
I recommend going in as soon as it opens at 8:00 AM – there will be fewer tourists then. You can finish exploring in a little over an hour and then return to the entrance to secure a good spot. Tour groups will gradually gather here before the 10:00 AM performance starts, and they will then converge into the Huangcheng Xiangfu after the performance ends in about ten minutes!

Perhaps because of the rain, there weren't many people. It's a small ancient town with almost no interactive activities. There were only a few shows, which weren't as good as the online reviews suggested. The food at the small shops was expensive and mediocre. More importantly, while it's a half-hour taxi ride there, it took ages to get back. I finally managed to get a shared ride, but they wouldn't even charge extra. Transportation is inconvenient. The 98 yuan entrance fee only covered the night view.
I love this place so much! I haven't had enough fun this time. The ancient buildings and museums are amazing. I learned a lot and experienced the life of the Republic of China... There are also various snacks and treasures.

I went there a few days ago with my parents and child. It's definitely worth a visit. As one of the sayings says, everyone should come here at least three times because everyone's experience is different at different ages. My parents, my child, and I all had different feelings about it. The guide's explanations were also very detailed and thorough.

Shanxi, a major coal-producing province, has a dedicated museum, which is great, but it feels a bit underwhelming. The museum looks like it's preparing for a commercial trade show, making it bustling. The entrance has been pushed to the side, which I found a bit strange.
After entering, I asked for a tour guide, and the professionalism was quite good. The guide was good. There's also an elevator that goes down to the mines, and the exhibits on coal mining from ancient times to the present day are quite good. It fully satisfied my curiosity. The exhibition halls offer detailed information on coal types, and there are also coal-based artifacts that I found quite novel. Overall, I feel like there's room for further exploration of coal. After the tour of the coal process, the museum transitioned to a special topic on Shanxi murals, which felt like a crossover and a bit overwhelming.

As the filming location for the classic version of "Dream of the Red Chamber", it made good use of this theme, recreating many story scenes, and also allowing for a deeper understanding of "Dream of the Red Chamber", Cao Xueqin and "Redology".
