Hidden in the depths of the mountains, Chengyang Bazhai is like a classical ink painting. This is a typical Yi village with well-preserved Yi architecture and rich folk customs. Walking through Yang Bazhai, you can appreciate the simple hanging tower, the spectacular drum tower group and the unique Yi culture, which makes people seem to travel through time and space and return to that distant era.
I went there the morning before Chinese New Year, and it was quite quiet, perhaps because they were preparing for the performances that would take place that afternoon and evening. Still, it was relatively quiet, so I didn't have to crowd around for photos. The area itself is well-maintained, not too commercial. Highly recommended.

I was really touched. It was almost 12 o'clock in the night. I called the scenic spot and they sent a car to pick us up. The merchants inside were very welcoming. Dong ethnic costumes, photos and makeup were only 399 for two people. The meal was not expensive either, about 200 yuan for four people. They were all local dishes, and the owner cooked them himself. I bought green tea. The price was also very fair.

Sanjiang Drum Tower
The Sanjiang Drum Tower is a typical representative of the wooden architecture of the Dong ethnic group. It is located in the center of Sanjiang County, Guangxi. The 27-story eaves are stacked one after another, and it looks like an exquisite wooden tower from a distance. The entire building does not use a single iron nail, and is connected entirely by mortise and tenon structure. Four century-old fir main pillars support the huge building. During the day, you can go up to the tower to enjoy the view, and the panoramic view of the county town is in full view; when the lights are turned on at night, the decorations on the eaves are more gorgeous under the lights, which is suitable for taking photos and checking in. There are also Fengyu Bridge, Moon Street Night Market and Fulu Temple nearby, so you can go shopping together.
This is the largest drum tower in Sanjiang. The drum tower is supported by four very thick and tall fir trees, which is magnificent. The entire drum tower is made of wood without a single nail. It is 42.6 meters high and is the largest drum tower in the world.
