Traveling westwards in the wind and rain to the Snæfellsnes Peninsula: columnar basalt walls, jagged rocks, bizarre tundra, giant volcanoes, sea stacks, and the most famous attractions on the Snæfellsnes Peninsula, the Straw Hat Mountain and the black sand beach, all give people a sense of weirdness and alienness, which is incredible and spectacular. The rain was intermittent, which was quite considerate and stopped at the right time, so I didn't miss the view. But the wind was always strong, so violent that it was almost impossible to stand or walk, and there was a life-threatening danger of being pushed under waterfalls, volcanic cliffs, and into the waves along the way [cover face][cover face][cover face]
