Because there were no other people joining the group for the originally booked session, it was changed to a 3.5-hour tour. The tour guide from Elephant Travel said that Xiao Jiang explained things very carefully, had done his homework thoroughly, and explained things in a simple and easy-to-understand way, from which I benefited a lot.
Seamless entry. Overall experience is not that long if you only view one side of the grottoes. Try to check up days where they do maintenance on the lightings (this was in Nov for 2025). The night view is worth a wait.

The hotel boasts a great location and affordable prices. My two-night stay was excellent, and it's very convenient for getting around. In the evenings, you can easily walk to the Yellow Crane Tower, Hubu Alley snack street, Tanhualin, and the Yangtze River Bridge. The hotel's location on Liangdao Street is convenient, and the price is reasonable, making it a great value.
It gets extremely crowded during holidays, making it difficult to get upstairs; you have to wait in line for a long time. The scenery is also quite beautiful. After descending the tower, you can walk along the Yangtze River Bridge and take some stunning panoramic photos.

I visited the park several years ago, and this time I took my child to school while the whole family went for a stroll. It was still as popular as ever, and the shows were just as wonderful, making it a place I never wanted to leave.
I chose this guesthouse because it's close to the Qingming Riverside Landscape Garden, whose tickets are valid for three days. Upon arrival, I discovered it's not only close to the garden but also to the Wuxia City (a martial arts city), Yangbo Mansion, and the Stele Forest Park. The location is truly excellent. The guesthouse is located in a quiet residential area. It seems to be a converted three-bedroom, one-living-room house, so the rooms are spacious, especially the bathroom. Although the bathroom doesn't have a separate shower and toilet area, its large size made it feel comfortable. The hot water for showering and washing up was plentiful, which was very pleasant. Note that there's a step leading from the room to the bathroom. The owner was very welcoming, offering to pick me up and drop me off; the owner's wife was especially helpful and patient. There's a fruit vendor near the east gate of the residential area. Perhaps because it caters to residents, the prices are very reasonable.

"You have to come to Laojun Mountain!" Laojun Mountain in Luoyang, the "Heavenly Palace" atop the 800-li Funiu Mountains. There's truly no off-season! Come, come! Laojun Mountain is a timeless painting, the Yi River a timeless zither. With a heart full of wisdom, the scenery is boundless. Wait for a sunset, chase the lights! ❤️ A breathtaking feast for the world! Night is the canvas, the golden summit the painting. Lighting up the 800-li Funiu Mountains, the light of the mortal world is also the starlight of the heavenly palace scattered upon humanity. All thoughts are entrusted to the thousand-foot golden summit—a majestic fairyland, a dazzling myth! ❤️ After watching the light show on Monday, we queued to descend the mountain. The queues for the first and second levels took about half an hour each, which felt like a long time. Actually, it wasn't. They say the queues can be as long as four hours when it's crowded! Ah!! It was windy when we climbed, but the weather was great the next day, though incredibly crowded. Apparently, there were over 30,000 people – Lao Jun Mountain is so popular! ❤️ I knelt down to pray at the Taoist temple in front of the Ten-Mile Gallery, and an elderly Taoist nun helped ring the bell three times. Thank you! ❤️ What I saw was that it was cold and windy at the summit; a down jacket and hand warmers were definitely necessary. Are things expensive on the mountain? Not at all! Three grilled sausages at Zhongtianmen cost 10 yuan, two hiking sticks cost 10 yuan, Mixue Ice Cream at the Golden Summit cost 6 yuan (supposedly the most popular item on Lao Jun Mountain), and bottled water cost 5 yuan… At 2200 meters above sea level, you think that's expensive?! After climbing so many mountains and seeing so many sights, the Ten-Mile Gallery on Lao Jun Mountain truly is only ten miles long!!! It takes at least two hours to walk the whole thing 😂 Walking along the razor-sharp ridges, with granite peaks and forests below, every step reveals a new vista. The incense burning since the Northern Wei Dynasty, every stone and tree embodies the Daoist principle of nature ❤️ Man follows the Earth, Earth follows Heaven, Heaven follows the Dao, and the Dao follows Nature. Upon reaching the Golden Summit, watch the live performance! Knowing Lao Jun Mountain, it's worth it; buying it together with the ticket gets you a discount. The Golden Hall, Liangbaotai, and Jade Emperor Peak shine brilliantly in the sunlight during the day, and the lighting at night is unbeatable! Looking down at the vast sea of clouds, with mountains appearing and disappearing, all worries vanish with the wind. The vastness of heaven and earth versus the insignificance of our own hearts—if there weren't so many people, the clarity and expansiveness of mind would be even more pronounced. We took the first-level cable car, climbed the steps and walked along the ten-mile gallery to the Golden Summit, watched the live performance and light show, queued for the second-level cable car, queued for the first-level cable car, had a bowl of soup at the exit, and stayed at a guesthouse at the foot of the mountain for the night—perfect! Flaws: Littering! Smoking! Who are these people?! So many pretty young boys and girls are smoking everywhere, so inconsiderate! And is Mixue offering you a ridiculously low price? While queuing to go down from the Golden Summit, I saw a man in front of me casually throw away half a cup of cigarettes. I reminded him that he had dropped something, but he wouldn't admit it or pick it up! The trash they carelessly throw away is being painstakingly picked up by the staff. Please respect them ❤️
After taking the first-level cable car, the hike isn't too strenuous, allowing for a leisurely stroll through the Ten-Mile Painting Screen. The night view is beautiful, but remember to dress warmly. The descent at night is congested, so it's recommended to head down quickly after the first lighting ceremony, otherwise the cable car queue can be around an hour long! It's advisable to avoid Saturdays as they are the busiest; you'll either have to descend immediately or go down late.

That's great! It's worth coming. There are so many shows, you can't watch them all. The Three Attacks on Zhu Family Village is so realistic. The interior design is innovative. I'll definitely come back for two days next time. I didn't get enough of it. The food is very cheap, and the water and drinks are very affordable, about the same price as outside!
The scenic spot is very unique, striving to reflect the characteristics of the ancient capital of the Song Dynasty. The performances are diverse, with high visitor participation, and the NPCs are very friendly. The "Three Attacks on Zhu Family Village" is particularly exciting.

The museum is free, just need to make a reservation. We arrived an hour before closing time, so it was very rushed, but the advantage was that we didn't have to queue to see the Sword of Goujian, King of Yue; we could just walk in. Unfortunately, we missed the chime bell performance. The gold artifacts of King Liangzhuang were absolutely stunning. We also managed to buy the souvenirs we wanted before closing time!
The experience was great. Although it was a bit crowded, the cultural relics were truly a feast for the eyes. The tour guide, Shu Ping, was also excellent; her pronunciation was clear, complete, and fluent. Highly recommended! 😍😍😍

Today's visit to "Only Henan: A City of Theatrical Fantasy" deeply moved me. In the grand narrative of *The Railway Station Theater*, I witnessed a poignant and intense brotherly bond—Li Shiyi, the elder brother of Li Shiba, harboring an almost tragic tolerance and boundless love for his brother. The horrors of the 1942 Henan famine were reenacted on stage, the desperate scene of starving people scrambling for food was suffocating. When Li Shiyi, desperately seeking some life-saving seeds from his brother, the stationmaster, learned that the price would be his brother's life, his world crumbled instantly. Ultimately, Li Shiba opened the granary to distribute the grain, sacrificing himself in the process. Li Shiyi's madness and breakdown upon learning all this vividly portrayed the struggle of humanity under extreme circumstances. The smaller theater production *Wheat, Oh Wheat* depicts the resilient landscape of the people of Henan, who have depended on the land for thousands of years. Those simple and hardworking farmers, dedicating their lives to the wheat fields, saw wheat not only as food but also as their roots and soul. With the southward advance of the Jin army at the end of the Northern Song Dynasty, Henan was forever cut off from the dynastic capital, a historical turning point tinged with desolation and regret. Another short play, "Su Shi's Henan," succinctly portrays the tumultuous life of the literary giant Su Shi in just thirty minutes. From his initial fame through the imperial examinations, to his repeated demotions and fluctuating fortunes, until his eventual pardon but failure to return to the capital Bianjing, where he died and was buried in Henan, his poetry is filled with a magnanimous outlook on life and an optimistic view of hardship. Yet, isn't this also a kind of spiritual transcendence under the pressure of reality? Behind that "forced magnanimity" lies a profound undercurrent of unfulfilled ambition throughout his life. This trip was not merely a theatrical experience, but a profound dialogue with the land, history, and the depths of human nature.
I really loved it! The shows were all incredibly moving and well-made, and the entire park was beautifully designed. It's definitely worth spending a whole day there. If possible, avoid holidays for an even better experience! 😍

We stayed overnight at Nanyan the day before, and then climbed to the Golden Summit the next day. We took the cable car down to Qiongtan and then the shuttle bus to the visitor center. The itinerary wasn't rushed, and we saw both the sunset and the sunrise – beautiful! In the morning, we went to Nanyan Palace; there were no tourists there. The mountain gate opened, and other tourists only entered after we left Nanyan Palace. It was a very leisurely and comfortable morning.
Wudang Mountain Scenic Area is vast. Enter early and take the shuttle bus to Taizipo, Zixiao Palace, and Nanyan for sightseeing, then hike up the mountain. When you reach Chaotian Palace, be sure to take the back mountain route to experience the essence of Wudang Mountain. Pass through the First Heavenly Gate, Second Heavenly Gate, and Third Heavenly Gate to reach Zijincheng and the Golden Summit. Hike down the mountain via Qiongtan or take the cable car down to Qiongtan and then take the shuttle bus back to the main entrance.

Totally recommended. Magical Shaolin historical trip. My dream come true.
Shaolin Temple is located in Dengfeng, nearly two hours' drive from both Zhengzhou and Luoyang, so be sure to plan your trip in advance. Upon entering the scenic area, the first stop is a Shaolin martial arts performance. Even in the off-season, you need to queue for half an hour in advance. We arrived late, and all the seats were taken, with even fewer on the second floor. We simply found a spot on the first floor and stood against the wall to watch. Further on, you reach the actual Shaolin Temple. At this time of year, the thousand-year-old ginkgo trees inside are a vibrant yellow, perfectly complementing the red walls and gray tiles of the surrounding buildings. Next to the temple is the Pagoda Forest, the final resting place of eminent monks throughout history. Next to the Pagoda Forest, there's a sightseeing cable car going up the mountain for 100 yuan round trip. Unfortunately, we had booked a vehicle in advance and didn't have time to go, so we just took the sightseeing bus directly from there, which was a bit of a disappointment. If you want to go up the mountain, you should allow at least 5 hours.

Kaifeng Prefecture (also known as Kaifeng Palace), located on the north bank of Bao Gong East Lake in Kaifeng City, Henan Province, covers an area of over 60 acres. It was an important institution in the Northern Song Dynasty for managing the capital and surrounding areas, and was hailed as the "Premier Prefecture Under Heaven." It is now a Song Dynasty cultural theme park.
The night tour of Kaifeng Prefecture features a continuous series of sound, light, electricity, song, and dance performances. The scenery is stunning, interspersed with NPC interactions. The performers are very focused, and the entire performance is elegant. The crowds are not large, making it a very comfortable experience.
