The Jin Temple, China's oldest extant imperial sacrificial garden, boasts a rich historical and cultural heritage and unique architectural style. The extensive Jin Temple Park is open to the public free of charge, while the core area, the Jin Temple Museum, requires a ticket. The museum's main attractions include the "Three Wonders" (Zhou Dynasty cypresses, Song Dynasty colored sculptures, and the Nanlao Spring), the "Three Treasures" (Holy Mother Hall, Offering Hall, and Fish Pond Flying Bridge), and the "Three Plaques" (Water Mirror Terrace, Nanlao, and the Duiyue).
There's a large park at the entrance to the Jin Temple, and through it you'll find the Jin Temple Museum.
If you need an official tour guide, ask for one at the official ticket office in the food court where you get off the bus. Otherwise, once you enter the park, you'll find yourself surrounded by amateur guides. They're all dressed in uniform, wearing hats, and look quite formal. They're all elderly men and women, and their Mandarin isn't very standard.

The Taiyuan Botanical Garden is a great place to visit! Each of the three venues has its own unique features, with a plethora of rare plants and high-tech architecture. It's a great place to learn and take photos. Highly recommended!
Taiyuan Botanical Garden, a beloved hideaway for artistic youth, boasts a 90,000-square-meter botanical kingdom, making any casual photo opportunity feel like being transported to the Wizard of Oz. The gardens boast a tropical rain shower, a psammophyte pavilion, a seasonal flower pavilion, and an insect collection—it's incredibly large. But it seems people aren't there to see the plants; they're mainly there to see the internet-famous starry sky elevator. Many people visit the botanical garden specifically for this iconic ride. We visited at the end of August, but it was still packed, with long lines forming. The night view is truly stunning, romantic, and dreamy.

The Luoyang Museum was incredibly popular! We arrived at the entrance at 9:00 AM and started queuing, but we finally entered at around 10:30 AM, a half-hour late. The instructor was very considerate and gave us extra time. The instructor's explanations were thorough, citing historical texts and classics, and I could tell you he had a wealth of historical knowledge. By visiting several exhibition halls, I was able to connect thousands of years of Luoyang's history, which was a very rewarding experience. The Luoyang Museum has many treasures, but the white jade cup made the most impression; the quality is beyond photographic capture! Besides the crowds and the long lines for the restrooms, the experience was a bit disappointing. The Luoyang Museum is excellent in every way, and I'd definitely come back if I had the chance.
The Luoyang Museum experience completely exceeded my expectations! A must-see destination for Luoyang's cultural tourism, it boasts a rich history yet exudes modern vitality. The building, resembling a large bronze tripod, exudes the grandeur of this "ancient capital of 13 dynasties" even from afar.
Wandering through the exhibition halls was truly enjoyable. The exhibits, ranging from prehistoric civilizations to the Ming and Qing dynasties, are incredibly clear. The textures of Shang and Zhou bronzes and the luster of Tang Dynasty tri-colored horses are truly stunning up close. The most surprising thing was the VR interactive area, where you can "travel back to" ancient Luoyang.
The staff were very patient, and the cultural and creative shop was no slouch when it came to the artefacts. I bought a refrigerator magnet featuring the scroll of "The Goddess of the Luo River," a painting of the legendary capital Luoyang. It's free, and guided tours can be booked. Spending the better part of a day here is worth visiting many paid attractions. Highly recommended!

Take the elevator to the top observation deck for an instantly expanded view. Looking west, the Yellow River winds like a golden ribbon across the southern Shanxi plain, the setting sun casting its afterglow across the water, embodying the realistic image of "the sun sets behind the mountains." Looking east, the houses of Yongji City overlap with the distant Zhongtiao Mountains, and the drifting clouds in the sky seem to echo the Yellow River below, evoking the philosophical saying, "To see a thousand miles, one must ascend to a higher tower." The cultural exhibits within the building are also worth a closer look. The vigorous inscription on the first floor, "Stork Tower Record," recounts the building's history. The poetry exhibition area on the second floor brings together masterpieces of literati's poems about the building from the heyday of the Tang Dynasty to the Ming and Qing dynasties, each depicting its own distinct style and expressing why it has become a spiritual landmark in the hearts of literati. However, one regret is that some of the modern decorations feel a bit redundant. If they were more in line with the simple and elegant style of the ancient building, perhaps the charm of "poetry and tower as one" would be better highlighted.
Before leaving, I looked back to see the Stork Tower, ablaze with warm yellow lights in the twilight, interweaving with the sunset glow in the horizon and the shimmering waters of the river to create a tranquil and beautiful painting. This is more than just a viewing tower; it's a place where one can converse with poets who lived thousands of years ago. Only when you truly stand atop the tower will you understand how a single line of poetry can make a building immortal across millennia.

Youlong Bay at Yatianxia in Baoquan Scenic Area is so beautiful! No wonder National Geographic chose it for the cover. Also, the free glass viewing platform at Yashang Qianqiu is also free. The Grand Canyon is a favorite for both children and adults.

Since there are no seats available, you'll need to walk around the two scenes, so comfortable shoes are recommended. It's best to hire a guide, otherwise you won't be able to see anything clearly. Tickets are also very expensive. The whole experience was great. We didn't hire a tour guide and were traveling independently. The show was already in the afternoon. The customer service was very considerate and called to let us know the remaining showtimes. They also arranged a free car to take us from the Terracotta Warriors to the theater entrance. After arriving at the theater, we were treated like VIPs and sat in the first row the whole time! The experience was really great hahaha
Honestly one of the best things I've done in China, arrived just before a showing after a DiDi across from the mausoleum and was the only European person there. The staff made lots of effort and had an English translation headset which meant I could follow and the show itself was excellent. It moved from different areas throughout the show in different rooms and I got escorted very kindly each time to the front by a lovely member of staff and could see really well each time. Would massively recommend!

The colors are so bright that many pictures taken with the original camera on my phone are overexposed. It's really good, I don't even need to Photoshop. This time, on my flower-chasing trip to Luoyang, my favorite peony garden is the Sui and Tang Dynasty Botanical Garden. It really feels like the flowers are in full bloom and the house is filled with joy. Later, I went to several other gardens and compared them, but none of them were as good as this one. I didn't see enough, so I went in again today.
This night tour is very cost-effective. I saw the peonies, the lantern festival and the iron flower performance. It was a pleasant night. I visited on April 11th, when the peonies were in full bloom. The large peonies in full bloom were amazing!
