Recently, I walked into the ancient city of Lingling, as if traveling through a thousand years of time. Stepping into the ancient city, the bluestone road winds forward, and the pavilions in the style of Ming and Qing dynasties on both sides are quaint. In Liuzi Street, there are many shops, and you can feel the prosperity of the past. The relief wall of "Eight Records of Yongzhou" at the entrance of the street tells the story of Liu Zongyuan. On the banks of the Xiaoshui River, black-sailed boats sway, and rough singing comes from the fishing drum stage. As night falls, red lanterns light up, and light and shadow interweave, making the ancient city more charming. Here, history and modernity blend, and humanity and nature shine together, which makes me intoxicated and reluctant to leave. Lingling Ancient City is really a shining pearl on the land of Xiaoxiang.
Lingling Ancient City, located at the intersection of Lishui and Xiangjiang River in Lingling District, Yongzhou City, Hunan Province, is one of the oldest and most profound ancient cities in Hunan Province and even southern China. Its name itself carries a heavy history - the word "Lingling" dates back to the ancient legendary era, and is rumored to be related to the southern tomb of the Emperor Xuan ("Lingling" is the meaning of the emperor's tomb, "zero" has a meaning of tears, and it is mourning). Its historical changes are like a vivid epic, spanning more than two thousand years: 1. **Zhaoshi and Foundation (Pre-Qin - Two Han): ** * ** Qin Dynasty set up a county:** In 221 BC, Qin Shihuang implemented a county system after unifying China, and officially established **Lingling County**.
