I knew about Mawangdui when I watched Day Day Up when I was a kid, but I only knew the name. This time I had the opportunity to visit the museum and observe it up close. I finally saw the ancient poetry in the museum. To be honest, it was really shocking. It was a very unforgettable experience. I also went to Tao Zhe's concert here, which was very good.
There are so many treasures, all very cute. The explanation is the main part, and most of the time you can explore on your own. I went early, and when I first entered, there was no one at Lady Xin Zhui's place, so I could see it "without any obstacles". I really liked the part about clothes. I found it magical to listen to the explanation. Although I can't remember too much, it is much more interesting than exploring on my own. My visit to Orange Island was a bit disappointing, as I didn't enter until 10 p.m., so I missed many of the attractions. However, cruising the Xiang River at night was quite unique. The river breeze was pleasant, and the stroll was relaxing. I also saw Chairman Mao's statue, which made up for the small regret and left me with a unique memory of my night out.

The surprise of this trip started with staying at this hotel! 🫶This stay was an absolute blast! From getting off the bus to checking out, the front desk lady was incredibly attentive. Check-in took just a minute, and she even helped carry our luggage to our room. The room was incredibly clean, and the bedding felt soft, like sinking into a cloud. The bathroom had a separate wet and dry area, so the hot water came quickly and the pressure was consistent, so I didn't experience fluctuating temperatures while showering. The dining area was also very comfortable, with good lighting and spacious tables and chairs, so it didn't feel crowded. The staff promptly cleared away empty plates, and the tables were always clean. The service was also very friendly, even proactively asking if we needed coffee. ☕
The scenery was breathtaking, and our room had a direct view of Fubo Mountain and the Li River. My friend even asked if I was staying inside the park. It was so refreshing. Free fruit, lemonade, and snacks were available all day on the first floor. Such thoughtful attention to detail. I would recommend this hotel to my friends and would definitely stay here with my kids next time. I'd definitely choose this place. I hope it continues to do better. It would be perfect if the rooftop outdoor swimming pool was bigger, hahahaha, thank you for giving me a wonderful first day of traveling in Guilin☺️

It looks like a giant elephant bent over, guzzling the Li River's water—tons, tons, tons. It's been drinking for two thousand years and still hasn't had enough! Is this elephant made of water?
Up close:
From the front: The large natural hole in the center of the hill—the Water Moon Cave—looks like it was pierced through by an elephant's trunk. Standing inside in the cave in the summer is so cool you'll want to move in and sleep on your own!
From the side: The rock texture mimics the wrinkles of an elephant's skin, even resembling "elephant legs" and a "tail."
Magical moment:

A small pavilion mainly records the life and birth of Du Fu, and then travels all the way. Some of the videos are only three stories high. When there is nowhere to go, you can go up and take a walk. It is Orange Island on the other side of the river and take some photos.
The night view of Du Fu Jiangge is more beautiful than the day view. It is crowded at night, but deserted during the day. The performance is also quite exciting, but it is too short. The recommended month is September, which is the off-season. The price is affordable, there is a direct bus to the scenic area, which is convenient and all green.

I originally wanted to buy tickets on the official website, but they didn't distinguish between upper and lower cabins, requiring separate tickets for transportation to the pier. After careful consideration and comparison, I chose Ctrip. After comparing the service details, I chose boat number 4 (the boat numbers represent different agencies; after booking, I learned that number 4 was for the Youth Travel Agency). I chose boat number 4 because it offers a free refund the day before departure and doesn't require me to pick up the tickets myself. The experience was excellent. Our guide, Xiao Pan, was friendly and attentive at the pier. The bus picked us up right outside the hotel, and the local specialty sales along the way were pleasant. My friend was delighted to find gifts for her family. After arriving at the pier, Xiao Pan helped me pick up the tickets, saving me the trouble of heading straight to the pier. The three-star boat was quite comfortable. As for the Li River scenery, it's undeniable—definitely worth a visit!
