The entire trip was sparsely populated, except for the slightly crowded stretch from the Seventeen-Arch Bridge to the Hall of Renshou near Kunming Lake. A boat from Xidi Pier to Nanhu Island cost 30 yuan one-way, with no lines and very few people. Along the way, I admired the lotus flowers, took a boat tour of Kunming Lake, enjoyed the scenery of Longevity Hill and the Tower of Buddhist Incense, and admired the lotuses at the Garden of Harmonious Fun. However, the Yigongzi Café at the Garden of Harmonious Fun has recently closed, so if you'd like to enjoy a cup of coffee while admiring the lotuses, consider bringing your own coffee.
Aside from a slightly sunny spot near Kunming Lake, the rest of the trip was shady and cool, with a refreshing breeze.
