My first impression was how huge it was! No one told me I needed to buy a ticket for the sightseeing bus inside the botanical garden before I went. I'm so glad I did; it was totally worth the ten yuan! If you walk, you have to climb quite a lot, and the different areas are all quite far apart. For someone from northern China, it was quite a sight to behold.
The botanical garden is huge, perfect for taking photos. The misting effect is ethereal and beautiful, like something out of a fairy tale. There are also enormous giant cacti. It's incredibly good value for money.

Pingtan Island, gently caressed by the waves, captivates the world with its tranquil beauty. Whether it's the rippling turquoise waters or the golden rays of sunlight on the beach, the island exudes a captivating radiance. Pingtan Island's beauty is a treasure gifted by nature, waiting to be explored and discovered.
[Pingtan Island: The Closest "Blue Tears" Wonderland to Taiwan, a Flavorful Journey Across Mountains and Seas] If you were to compile a list of Fujian's islands, Pingtan Island would undoubtedly earn its place as "special." Not only is it the closest mainland island to Taiwan (just 68 nautical miles), it's also a hidden gem that blends magical nature, quaint fishing villages, and a burgeoning artistic atmosphere. The following is a detailed review based on four aspects: scenery, experiences, food, and practical advice: --- 🌊 1. Natural Wonders: Dreamy Blue Tears and Windmill Sea Blue Tears (April-August only) is Pingtan's signature wonder. At night, the waves glow a faint blue, resembling stars falling into the sea. This is actually a bioluminescent phenomenon produced by the accumulation of Noctiluca scintillans. Beigang Village, Tannan Bay, and Changjiangao are the best spots to observe the tears. While watching for them requires careful attention to tides and weather forecasts, and luck is crucial, if you do happen to see them, it's an unforgettable romantic experience. The windmill fields offer a visual feast during the day. The giant white windmills on Changjiangao Beach and the northern ecological corridor spin in the wind, creating a striking scene against the azure sea and black reefs, giving every shot a cinematic feel. --- 🏘 2. Cultural Customs: Stone Villages and Slow Island Life Pingtan's traditional villages are centered around "stone houses"—gray-brown granite houses dotted between the mountains and the sea, their roofs pressed with stone for windproofing, a quaint and durable aesthetic. Recommended: · Beigang Village: A cluster of stone houses, renovated through artistic means, featuring homestays, cafes, and cultural and creative workshops, perfect for a short stay while enjoying the ocean view; · Maotoukan: A secluded village hidden in a mountain valley, offering panoramic views of the bay from atop a hill; · Dongxiang Island (filming location for "Where Are We Going, Dad?"): Reachable by boat, this village retains its original fishing village atmosphere and is perfect for adventure lovers. --- 🦞 3. Dining Experience: Seafood Extravaganza and Authentic Snacks · Seasonal Seafood: Mantis shrimp (mantis shrimp), swimming crab, clams, and sturgeon rice are freshly caught and cooked. Recommended options include street food stalls in the county town or home kitchens in fishing villages. Blanching or steaming brings out the freshness and sweetness. · Specialty Snacks: · Fortune (Salty Rice): Soft and glutinous on the outside, with a filling of seaweed, seafood, and pork, for a savory and fragrant bite; · Forever: Deep-fried sweet dumplings with peanut and sesame filling, crispy on the outside and runny on the inside; · Eight Treasures Fried Cake: Potato flour and seafood stir-fried for a chewy and smooth texture. · Recommended Locations: Night markets around Haitan East Road in the county town and Longfengtou Beach. --- 📌 IV. Practical Tips: 1. Transportation: Driving from Fuzhou to Pingtan takes about 1.5 hours (the cross-sea bridge is now open). It's recommended to rent an electric car (¥80-100/day) for flexible travel within the island. 2. Accommodation: For convenience, choose the county seat (near Longfengtou); for a more artistic experience, choose the stone-built B&B in Beigang Village. 3. Itinerary: 2-3 days is ideal, with Day 1 covering the northern route (Beigang to Changjiangao to the Ecological Corridor) and Day 2 covering the southern route (Tanan Bay to Houyan Island). 4. Note: Sun and wind protection is recommended in summer (strong sea breezes), while the temperature swings are significant in winter. Blue Tears require nighttime observation, so traveling with companions is recommended. --- Summary: Pingtan Island's charm lies in its "interweaving of wildness and art"—it boasts untouched sea erosion wonders, wild and...

Hulishan Fort, located on Hulishan Mountain in the southern part of Xiamen Island in Fujian Province, my country, is a historic military facility. Built during the reign of Emperor Guangxu of the Qing Dynasty, it served as a crucial component of China's modern coastal defense. Numerous ancient artillery pieces are on display here, each bearing a rich historical story and bearing witness to Xiamen Island's turbulent history.
The ticket price is 25 yuan per person, which is very cost-effective. I arrived around 10 o'clock in the morning just in time to watch the show. After watching the show, I walked around. The scenic area is very clean and comfortable, and there is a different world inside.

My child was so excited about the whale specimen, and was immediately overwhelmed by its sheer size. He cried... a true example of "Lord Ye's love of dragons" (a Chinese idiom meaning someone who professes to love something but is actually afraid of it)... hahaha. The guide was incredibly gentle and patient, and I thoroughly enjoyed the explanations! A million thumbs up!
This science and technology museum uses a "visible and tangible" approach to make dry scientific knowledge lively and engaging. Whether it's the basic science exhibition area for teenagers or the cutting-edge technology exhibition for adults, both areas offer tailored teaching methods. The exhibition areas feature concise and clear explanations, along with animated demonstrations and interactive experiments, making even complex physical laws easily accessible. More than just an exhibition space, it serves as a bridge connecting the public and science, making it a perfect base for popular science education.

Meizhou Island in Putian is a sacred site for Mazu, and everything there is dedicated to her. I was fortunate enough to catch a Mazu event, which was very lively and truly awe-inspiring. Being from Northeast China, I feel that for this kind of traditional culture and faith, one must look to the South, and specifically to Fujian culture. It's like a city, surrounded by beaches with residential areas in the center. The two of us rented electric scooters and rode around for half a day, enjoying the scenery. It was truly beautiful, and the pace of life here is very slow. It's a perfect place for a vacation and sightseeing.
Meizhou Island is a hidden gem where mountains, sea, and faith intertwine, boasting both the profound Mazu culture and the ethereal beauty of coastal scenery. A visit to the Mazu Ancestral Temple is a must. The solemn morning worship ceremony and the ascent to the 14.35-meter-high stone statue, where the scenery of the Taiwan Strait blends seamlessly with the incense smoke, is truly captivating. Among the natural landscapes, the Goose Tail Stone Garden is the most stunning. The "Flying Halberd Cave" and "Sea Turtle Pilgrimage" rocks, sculpted by millions of years of sea erosion, combined with the crashing waves, create a natural sculpture gallery. Rent an electric scooter and ride along the Rainbow Road, with the azure sea and sky on one side and colorful road markings on the other, making it easy to capture stunning photos. Don't miss the sunset at the Golden Beach; the fine sand and clear water create a breathtaking atmosphere. For food, we recommend buying and cooking seafood fresh, paired with authentic Putian braised noodles—delicious and flavorful. However, beware of scalpers: be cautious of touts at the pier, and only buy ferry tickets from the official WeChat account; some restaurants are expensive, so buying and cooking at the farmers' market is more cost-effective. The off-season can be a bit quiet, but the weather is best from April to October. Overall, this place is perfect for a leisurely trip, offering opportunities for pilgrimage and prayer, as well as enjoying the waves and the sounds of the surf – definitely worth a visit.

The scenery is very nice. Holidays are crowded, and the restaurant was packed. The speed of replenishing dishes was OK. The fish was not fresh and a bit smelly. The other ingredients were OK and tasted OK. I hope to pay attention to the quality of seafood in the future.
The scenery on the boat is very beautiful and the overall fun is also very strong. I have been on Guangzhou and other Shanghai boats before, but the culture on this boat is not as good. The entertainment activities on this boat are very motivating. But the meal is just average. I went there late at night and there was nothing to eat. Although there was always food to eat, the variety became very limited.

How could you visit Quanzhou without a trip to the South Shaolin Temple? I rushed to catch a taxi and made it to the Sunday afternoon show at 4:30 PM. The temple isn't very large, so don't allow too much time; 1-2 hours is enough. The performing monks were very dedicated; the youngest was probably only 3-4 years old. They were very endearing, but it was also touching to see them working so hard at such a young age, the same age as my son. Overall, it was a great experience. There's a Buddhist supplies shop nearby after the performance; you might want to check it out.
This was the most amazing part of my trip to Quanzhou. Absolutely amazing! Absolutely worth the money. We parked in the wrong parking lot and had to walk quite a distance to the martial arts hall. The scenery was stunning, and the stone carvings were incredibly charming. My mother, a cancer patient, uses a wheelchair, so we had to support her on our way there. Going down the stairs was fine, but the only thing we worried about was getting back. She was incredibly excited during the show, and after we finished, I held her hand and we managed to climb the stairs ourselves, finally making it back to the parking lot, panting. It must have been a form of healing; seeing her vibrant smile, so long ago, was so joyful. A huge thank you to the performing artists; please accept my greetings.

The teahouse in Wudian City is a place where you can watch puppet shows. It is worth it. I watched wonderful puppet shows, including "Little Bald Head Goes Down the Mountain", "Daming Mansion", and "Wu Song Fights the Tiger". I learned puppetry skills and can also experience puppetry. The intangible cultural heritage is worth watching. The service is also very good and the water is added in a timely manner.
The puppet master performs three shows: string puppetry and hand puppetry. It's amazing! I heard that he started practicing at the age of 12. The performance of Wu Song fighting the tiger is very exciting! It's worth taking the children to see.

Puppetry craftsmanship, a testament to intangible cultural heritage. Each puppet performance is like stepping back in time, steeped in ancient charm. Exquisite craftsmanship and lifelike performances reveal the artisan's dedication and the richness of the culture in every detail. Watching it is like a dream, inspiring a longing in the heart. Highly recommended for those who love traditional culture; witness it for yourself and experience its unique Eastern charm.
Arriving in Quanzhou, I saw a puppet show, a traditional intangible cultural heritage, for the first time. It was truly amazing and made me deeply appreciate the profoundness of Chinese culture. I hope this intangible cultural heritage will be well preserved and passed down.

Loved it. Lots to do, you could spend all day there. Also make sure you hire a buggy. This place is huge.
The Fantawild Hotel in Xiamen is quite unique. When we got there, we went to Fantawild to play. We saw that the room we booked could see the light show at night. The swimming pool was also very nice. It was very special to swim on rainy days. You could even see the fireworks. However, I lost a pair of slippers there and couldn't find them. Maybe I thought Fantawild was so good that I didn't want to come back.
