Great time even in the off season.
We went late in the season so many things were closed but the color was beautiful and we had a great experience. We whet our appetite to return in season.

The peninsula is a beautiful drive, with many scenic views, restaurants, lodging, and events in the summer. It's hard to get to the shore, so make arrangements with local property owners.
We did a two-day drive up one side of the peninsula and down the other in rain and clouds. The maples were very pretty as were the views of the lakes. We visited the Keweenaw Brewery and the Librewery...
For us, this the BEST part of Michigan. Away from the madding crowds, simply surrounded by nature. Drive along the lake, visit the small villages, but most of all, just enjoy it.

Lovely Drive
