it was a hollow moat!
Original Text
Do you know "Komine Kuruwa Kitabori"? It is an old Kuruwa built by Mr. Hojo during the Warring States period in Odawara Castle. Normally speaking of moats, there is a stone wall and a waterway, but this is an empty moat with clay walls. However, the depth at that time seemed to be 7‐8 m, so it was one of the defense means. Hotoku Ninomiya Shrine is nearby, so please stop by.
There is a hollow moat just past the torii gate of Ninomiya Shrine from the castle tower of Odawara Castle. Hotoku Ninomiya Shrine stands in Komine Kuruwa, so you can see that it was a hollow moat that separates the main enclosure and Komine Kuruwa. It was good to be able to see the remains of Odawara Castle.
On the way from the side of the castle tower to Hotoku Jinja shrine
Original Text
After the empty moat on the way from the side of the castle tower to Hotoku Shrine, it is now dense and thick with trees, and rainwater and spring water are often accumulated, so it feels a little damp. You may not get the impression that it is "hollow moat".
Kubori on the way from the castle tower to Ninomiya Jinja shrine
Original Text
Komine Kuruwa Kitabori is on the way down the steep slope from the bottom of the Odawara Castle Castle Stairs and enter Hotoku Ninomiya Shrine from the back. There was a signboard called Shoji moat nearby, so it was confusing, but if you remove the historical background, it is an empty moat with grass growing in the depression.
On the way from the amusement park behind the castle tower to Sontoku Jinja Shrine
Original Text
It was in the middle of a small diameter from the amusement park behind the castle tower to Sontoku Shrine. It's a place where you want to see a small edge. If you look at it without knowing anything, it is a place full of dense trees in the valley. It is unlikely that you can go alone at night.
