Lifestyles of the rich in Japan over a century ago.
I went to this attraction not expecting much, but the private tour we were given was great and I was very glad we went. The house was built by a silk and wallpaper producer. At the time, the preside...
[Okaya] is called "Silk Furusato", but it was ビックリ that there was a shoji with [silk] attached instead of [paper] inside.

This is designated as a [National Important Cultural Property] and I visited when I learned that there is a room decorated with the old "Kinkara paper" on the whole of the room such as [Ceiling] [Wall]. What surprised me here was that there was a shoji with a [silk] attached instead of [paper] (see attached photo). I have visited mansions all over the country, but it is the first time to appreciate the Shoji with [silk], and the word "silk hometown" is ピッタリ. Also, ... between columns and floors.

It is located in a residential area about 5 minutes walk from JR Okaya Station. The old house of the first Hayashi Kunizo of Ichiyama Kabayashi Silk Mill, which was founded as Tenryu Silk Mill in 1897.

Visited because I wanted to see the gold karashi. The person who was explained was studying very much, and he talked hotly and in detail about the history of the silk industry in this area by interweaving the explanation of the building, including his own theory. The building built by the palace carpenter is a masterpiece of care, luxury and stylishness for each room. The more you know, the more you know the value of this building. I was able to spend a very fulfilling time.
